About this listen

Flynn Tomlinson has drifted for several years, working odd jobs when he needs the money and moving on when he doesn’t. He’s content with his freestyle life, not tied down, not responsible for anyone but himself. Then he comes across a Help Wanted ad in a post office in Idaho and meets Gable Sutton. Gable can’t pay Flynn until he sells his horses, but a serious accident has left him unable to work his ranch alone. Working with horses beats stacking shelves at the supermarket, and so Flynn agrees to Gable’s terms. What Flynn doesn’t bargain for is being captivated by this gentle, lonely man who captures his heart and moves Flynn to take on an incredible burden: saving Gable’s ranch.

May/December coyboy romance with complications

Flynn has been drifting & takes a low paying job with Gabe for a few weeks until the horse auction. Flynn is a good and decent man who takes responsibility and shapes up the ranch plus the house for Gabe. Gabe has been physically (horrifically messed up foot) and mentally hurt/abused by a former boyfriend. Complications in life ensue. Gabe's best girl friend wants a baby, Gabe is additional problems with his foot, the ranch is about to go under financially, but Flynn perseveres and helps save the ranch and helps Gabe back to health. The girl friend is their grocer and her husband their vet, so lots more complications than the former boyfriend.

Grant, Gabe's former boyfriend & Hunter, his neighbor provide further complications and are then featured in the next book.

Clouds and rain as explained by Zahra Owens:
“Clouds are thought to be the blending of the male and female, the sky and the earth, and the rain, the climax of the union. It comes from an old Chinese creation story in which heaven or sky, the Great Father, and earth, the Great Mother, are thought of as a conjugal couple engaged in never-ending intercourse.”

GREAT Story!

First off, I have to say, if you DO buy this book and enjoy it, get the rest of Zahra Owens' books as they are basically parallel stories that tie in quite well. That being said, I really enjoyed the book. You can identify and empathize with the characters who are quite likeable in their own unique ways. I have no regrets in buying this book. I have no regrets in listening to it. In fact, it caused me to buy the other books which are also very enjoyable.

Terrible

I wasted my time. There’s no soul in the story or the narration. Just bad.
