About this listen

Chicago homicide detective Tyler Jamison has accepted the fact that he was born defective. Women just don't do it for him, and he can't contemplate any other option. So, loneliness it is.

Ian Alexander has met the man of his dreams, but the guy's in complete denial of his sexuality. Ian's not giving up on Tyler, though. Tyler's a domineering, controlling force of nature...just what Ian has always craved in his bed.

When a serial killer sets his sights on Ian, Tyler will do anything to protect the much younger man. For the first time in his life, Tyler has experienced desire, and it's for another man. How much will it take for him to become the man he was meant to be?

Fast Moving

I usually don’t like when authors rush the plot line, but in this instance, I think it was PERFECT! She cut most of the cheesy over-told storylines out and made her points clear, sexy and fun! I love detective books, and I love when they are gay! I wish more authors knew that gay men can do “masculine” jobs!

Wonderful story!

April Wilson created a really entertaining story which I highly recommend! The narrators did a fantastic job representing her characters and I didn’t want her story to end. Two thumbs up!!

Beautiful story. One flaw.

Spoilers!

I loved the story and the romance between Tyler and Ian. Only thing I didn’t like but kind of did since it was different then other books I’ve listened too. Is that the murder was caught early in the book. Let me wondering if it was the wrong man or maybe something would happen to Ian.

Found me a new author!!

Wow, I don’t even know where to start! This story had me so invested that I literally couldn’t stop listening! I couldn’t tell you who’s voice was hotter, JF Harding, or Jack DuPont. They both had me fanning myself😍😍 The characters were written so well, and their struggles were so real. I just wanted to reach into the book and hug them both at different times. And the sexy times... whew, man wowza!! Hot hot hot!! Definitely found me a new author! This was my first April Wilson book. I will definitely be trying out her other books!

Character Driven

Somebody to Love is the first book in the Tyler Jamison series. It is also a spinoff from another MF series, but I haven’t read that series and honestly, don’t think I need to. Everything is explained very well in this book and I felt like I wasn’t missing anything. There are possible triggers in this book, so I suggest potential readers read the warnings.

I found this book to be entertaining and interesting. The characters are really the star of the show set against a backdrop of a murder mystery. The mystery really just felt like a way to put some of the characters in danger and to give them the push they needed to get together. Once I realized the book wasn’t so much focused on the murder as it was on the romance and character development, I started to really enjoy it. If you go into this book expecting an intricate mystery and police procedural, you’ll be disappointed. I liked the emotional development and I’m excited the series follows the same couple, Tyler and Ian, throughout the books. I think this will make for really great character development and relationship growth.

The audiobook was a dual narration and was masterfully done. I loved listening to it and enjoyed every moment of it.

Amazing!

I thought it was extremely fascinating! I couldn’t stop reading because the scenes, feelings, drama, all of it felt like a reflection of how it is to live life like I do!

Beautiful story and a wonderfully narrated listen

I thoroughly loved this book, and I want more ha ha! The issues we face in our humanity and the intimacy we find in those hard times - this is a great book. So glad I found it and I hope there's more in the future. If you love crime dramas, carnage, and of course romance, then I HIGHLY recommend this book. The narrators are amazing too!

Best MM Romance of 2021💜

If I’m being honest this genre is not at the top of my list, however if I continue to find books as well written as this one, it might become a favorite.
IMO this story was perfectly paced with just the right amount of sex. It also has hot chemistry, romance and family drama. Great murder mystery combined with a love interest. I freaking loved it!! The narration was absolutely amazing. The characters were sexy, vulnerable and emotional and both narrators really understood these characters and brought this story to life.
Well done everyone!! This is book 1 with an HEA and can be read as a standalone.
I highly recommend this book.

story is decent

I began to write some criticism of the narration and the basic storyline of this book but erased it because I believe it's up to every reader to make his or her own judgment as to the storyline or the narration. I will leave it at that.
