When nefarious ne’er do wells rear THEIR ugly heads, the situation needs to be “Controlled”, and “Controlled” is A Dark Mafia Romance done beautifully, brilliantly RIGHT! Get comfortable, make sure the edge of your seat is well padded … you’ll be spending a good amount of time there … have snacks, cold drinks with plenty of ice handy and get ready to be totally immersed in the world of The Cruel Kings! This is book two, Creeds story and I was instantly transported into a world where crime families rule and jockey for position, where deals are made and sealed in blood and betrayal. Both Creed and Bella bear emotional scars from their respective upbringings. The details are at times horrifyingly heartbreaking and will be left for future listeners to discover, far be it for me to engage in spoilers! The characters, ALL the characters, not just the leads, are perfectly defined, detailed, and beautifully human. I truly felt as if I came to not only KNOW Creed and Bella, but gleaned a deeper understanding of Styx and Easton as well as the various ne’er do wells and supporting characters! This understanding is so much of what allows me to become totally immersed in a story! Extremely well plotted, the story itself was riveting! I love twists, turns and surprises and I was not disappointed! Of course, I’ll not be giving up the goods here, that just wouldn’t be right, but know that their story is seeped mystery and suspense, their road paved with action, twists, turns, surprises, searing delicious heat, AND a perfectly timed reveal that will answer all your questions! The bonus for me was the epilogue that not only satisfied me completely, but brought me to tears! I can’t wait for book three! The icing on the proverbial cake was the narration! Smooth … sultry … perfectly timed, perfectly paced, one hundred percent believable AND at all times emotionally convincing, leaving no doubt as this beautiful story came vibrantly ALIVE as I listened, that THIS was exactly the “feel”, the VISION the author intended! Five fantastic stars across all categories! Amazing!

The story has some interesting twists, although certain scenes felt a bit out of place, making it a challenge to differentiate between fantasy, dreams, and reality. I sometimes backtracked, wondering if I missed details, especially with so many characters introduced along the way. While the writing style was fine, it felt a bit drawn out by the end of both books. The narration was solid, though a female voice may have added depth to the main character's perspective. That said, the overall plot kept my interest, and the storyline itself was engaging and worthwhile.

Oh I loved creed and Bella This is another brilliantly crafted story that continues this great series. The characters in this steamy story For fills my dark cravings of fetish interludes, electrifying suspense and fierce danger dark desires that spirals into intriguing passion.

This story will remind you of Beauty and the Beast. Bella and Creed both have a lot of pain in their past. There are many twists and turns, lots of action, mystery, suspense, intrigue within this deliciously hot romance. You will learn a lot more about all the characters and the Cruel Kings. Skyler Morgan was absolutely superb in his narration of this book. He portrayed each and every character beautifully. I received this audiobook for free upon my request. I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased review.

Book two brings us to Creed. He decides that when he sees something he wants he takes it. Even if it’s a ballerina. This story line is much more put together and comes with intrigue, darkness and heat. I would have preferred dual narrative, it was hard to tell the characters apart for me.

Controlled is book #2 in the Cruel Kings series. I loved Captured (book #1), but I think I loved this one just a little bit more. Creed (the monster you can't help but love) and Bella are again the Beauty and the Beast-ish type story. The author just keeps the story moving with twists and turns, intrigue, suspense, some funny banter, and smexy times to make you melt!🔥 Yeah...it's just that good. I love a series that just grabs hold of you and doesn't let go.

Once again, Skyler Morgan brought his A game to voice all the characters. 5/5 stars

Piper Stone is a good writer and Skyler Morgan is a good narrator but I kind of wish there was a dual narrative. Controlled is the second book in the series which is a dark mafia romance. The main characters may have scars from their pasts and they find a way to heal each other’s wounds. Sometimes it’s harder to tell what’s going on in the story is it a dream, reality, or fantasy in their head. There is lots of action, mystery, suspense, betrayal, and hot romance. The story is Hot, Steamy, Sexually charged, and carnal. There are so many characters introduced that it hard to keep up with. The plot is good. The story is interesting and worth reading.
