Wow

I absolutely loved Lauren Rowe as a Narrator in this one. It is not the typical Lauren Rowe book. This book was intriguing and different. It definitely isn’t your typical romance or suspense book. It was though brilliantly written and had wonderful elements and surprises.

Outstanding!

What made the experience of listening to Countdown to Killing Kurtis the most enjoyable?

The narrator was hilarious! I read this in ebook format first, and laughed til I cried, but the audio is ten times better!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Buttercup, because she is so 'matter-of-fact' throughout the whole story, that she's going to kill her husband. Her euphemisms are downright hilarious!

Have you listened to any of Lauren Rowe’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, I listened to the first book of the Club series. that was a dual-narration, and really good, too. Countdown is still my favorite, though.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but unfortunately life got in the way.

"Why thank you, Sugar!"

An absolute brilliant read! This book will have you on the edge of your seat and the ending will shock you!
Buttercup is hilarious with her sweet southern accent and internal dialogue! The story is dark and twisted but I freaking loved it! A definite must read!

Twisted and LOL

I listened to this book as I pressure washed my driveway and when I was finished, I looked for more things to clean, since I had an hour left in the book!!! I laughed out loud many times at Buttercup's thoughts, and although I never related to her character, I still found myself sympathizing with her "plight".
Not as predictable as I would've thought, which was refreshing, despite the underlying darkness of the story.
I love Lauren Rowe as a narrator, despite what other reviewers have said in some of her other books, and I think she outdid herself in this one!

Crazy

Wow this book was messed up. I don't know what i expected based on the title, but it wasn't what I got. At the beginning of the book I thought it was messed up and I almost quit, but eventually I couldn't put it down and I needed to know what was going to happen. Then a lot of unexpected twists. If you are into to dark psychological reads this is worth a read.

I would also like to give a shout out to Lauren Rowe for the narration, I couldn't even tell it was her and it was very impressive.

Previous review was wrong

In a previous review someone stated “that’s why writers are not narrators” however Miss Rowe did an excellent job. The story was interesting ( definitely different) I loved a lot of the southern dialect and sayings reminded me of when I was growing up. All in all a humorous and enjoyable listen.

Fantastic!!

Can I just say that Buttercup is one crazy heffa!! I am going to say she is right up there with some of her favorite lunatics...lol. I felt myself possibly slipping away right alongside her laughing and carrying on at her "texas" twang and her colorful euphemisms. The author does an amazing job at narration. Her timing is perfect and I don't know if that accent is authentic or not but she nails it. The story itself had me mesmerized wondering what was going to happen to "poor" Kurtis. Loved this audio!!
