About this listen

EPIC Award finalist. OKRWA International Digital Award winner.

Jocelyn Rhodes is a single mother with a demanding career and a long-neglected libido. Frustrated with the dating scene and way overdue for some satisfying sex, she takes a friend's advice and hires Sabian, a deliciously sexy escort. He's well worth the money, and the sheets haven't even cooled before she's ready to call him again.

The more time she spends with him, the more she realizes she and Sabian have more in common than she thought. She's a single mom, he's a prostitute, and when it comes to dating, they're both damaged goods. To most potential mates, Jocelyn and Sabian are in a category akin to dented soup cans, but if the two of them can look past each other's respective dents, they just might find something they've both been missing.

But even if they do find that something, how on earth can she make a relationship work with a man who sleeps with other women for a living?

This book was previously published, and has been lightly revised from its original version.

Such a sexy story and so delightfully told

Would you listen to Damaged Goods again? Why?

I loved listening to this story and really identified with it.

If you’ve listened to books by Lauren Gallagher before, how does this one compare?

This is my first book by Gallagher, but not my last!

What about Mary Rogers’s performance did you like?

I loved it, I felt in a way like I was hearing the story from myself.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Well, I would have loved to, if not for the distractions of everyday life!

Any additional comments?

One of the best of the genre I've listened to, very highly recommended.

Terrible production

This story was maybe okay- however the narrator and overall production was awful! You could hear birds squawking in the background, and the narrator would take long awkward pauses when she would flip a page (which you could audible hear her doing). She also did a terrible job of changing the tone of her voice when it came to the characters- most often her pitch would get higher when it was a male character speaking- which just doesn't make sense.

Overall, I am not pleased with this one.

Please get a different narrator.

I enjoyed the story. Hated the narrator. Steamy sexy scenes that would have been more enjoyable with a different narrator. Narrator sounds like her dentures are slipping....weird noises in the back. Someone get Sebastian York on this mess please.

STEAMY

What made the experience of listening to Damaged Goods the most enjoyable?

While the plot took some unexpected turns that I'm not entirely sure were "believable," it's fiction, right? It was a good listen for sure. I'm actually glad I bought the audiobook instead of the paperback, because it was read very well. It helped intensify the "steaminess."

What other book might you compare Damaged Goods to and why?

An older adult "Fifty Shades." ;)

What about Mary Rogers’s performance did you like?

She sucked me in! I most likely would not have finished reading if it were a paperback, but Mary Rogers made it come to life and really helped me visualize the characters! What a sultry voice...

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I didn't laugh or cry, but I was eager to keep listening!!

Any additional comments?

Does Mary Rogers narrate anything else?
