About this listen

Sean B. is an overly attractive man with a lot of pull, who's able to navigate well in life. He's an artist with several businesses under his belt; not to mention, he was once a professional football player. He has the money, fame, and Chelsea, who he considers as one of his best friends. Though they've been platonic friends for six years, there's something brewing in Sean that he can't seem to tame.

Chelsea is the definition of a strong-willed independent woman, who has everything under control as she steps out on new ventures in the entertainment business. She's level-headed and stable, but her past hurts from her notorious son's father prevent her from fully giving love a chance.

As close as these two are, could Sean convince Chelsea to get over her fear of love? If so, will she give him a try? Is it possible to become fearless in love?

So, I read this book on Kindle Unlimited a while back and loved it. It was a really cute and sexy "Friends to Lovers" story line. I think listening made me like the book even more. The performance was A1! Jakobi does an amazing job on anything he narrates and Wesleigh Siobhan might be my new favorite! I first listened to her in Ante Up and she killed it!

Overall great listen. I can't wait to Unjust Love is released. I may have loved Benjii's character more than Sean's, and that's saying a lot, because I loved Sean!

Loved Sean B and Chelsea!

This was my first Donnia Marie book, and the story was decent. It took a little adjustment to get used to her writing style, the dialogue and scene descriptions had some interesting word choices. There seemed to be a strong fascination with plush lifestyles, because the detailed descriptions of designer clothes, cars, etc. was a little over the top for me, but it was all good. In full transparency, I am working my way through Wesleigh and Jakobi’s catalogue, so I don’t know that I would have picked this one up otherwise, but it was a good listen (particularly because of the narration) nonetheless. Can’t knock a good friends-to-lovers hustle.

I really enjoyed the friendship into a great relationship. it was very interesting how they maintained their friendship as well as an actual relationship

there was a rebuild to this love story. it wasn't a rush to love. the author could've done a better job joining philemon in the bringing. the history helped with what wasn't there. overall it was a good read.

nice enough. slow love.

I'm on this Jakobi and Wesleigh kick, so these two together is always a great pairing! If your familiar with both narrators they do amazing job with bringing each character to light! I throughly enjoy you got to see each facets of their lives together from before to after marriage with a baby. However, I think I would of prefer more of the friendship stage a little longer it was anticlimactic once they became more than friends it happened so soon there wasn't a build up. Also, the only other thing that bother me was she was a single mom with a child but never had her kid, like he was often mention as an after thought. Like she barely mentioned him, and some things were just unrealistic like you have something so tragic happen to you and you have no issues and go back to life like everything okay. I don't know i could of done less with the materialistic descriptions i.e. when he brought her the car and more emotions like how her son felt or parents felt when everything happen to her. The book was a good story but there was a lot miss opportunities that could of made it better.
