About this listen

Psychology student Ashlyn Drake's neat, orderly life takes a turn for the crazy when she finds the perfect subject for her amnesia thesis - a young man without any memory of his previous life, including the murder he's accused of committing. Against all common sense, Ashlyn's drawn to him like a moth to a flame. Perhaps it's that he's so incredibly male, and even handcuffed to his hospital bed, he could pass for a cologne ad - Scent de Insanity. Or perhaps it's because she's spent too many lonely nights studying.

Either way, she's determined to help him solve the mystery of his past. She begins to unravel who he was before, using his cryptic tattoos and his paintings that scream of a dark past as her only clues. When she finally learns his secret, there's no telling which one is the real him, the gentle lover she's fallen for or the troubled man with a dark past.

Misleading narrator

I borrowed this title because it has sean crisden as narrator, I assumed the book was duel narration, but all Sean does is the two minute epilogue.

smexy scenes that make your toes curl!!

New Adult romance fans will go crazy over this book because it has the perfect combination of story and sex. Unravel Me is one of those stories that’s not perfect, but you like it anyhow for pure entertainment purposes. It had loads of sizzling chemistry! The main characters were drawn together like magnets, in spite of the inappropriateness of their relationship. This story began with an interesting premise... a hot guy with dissociative amnesia who was found at the scene of a murder. He couldn't remember anything and no one knew who he was or where he came from. He is being held in police custody at the hospital because he is the prime suspect for the murder, even though he has no memory of what happened or even what his name is. Ashlyn, a doctorate student, was studying amnesia and looking for a test subject to aid her research for her thesis. Overall, this story had real potential but needed more character development. I felt that we were given only pieces, but mostly left us in the dark about some important information, considering both plot and characters.  I considered giving it 4 stars, but the ending of the book which again felt rushed and left many things not answered for me.  I was definitely left wanting more and hope the second book will help the storyline continue to grow. So, in my opinion the book was good but it could have been even better. My favorite line was Ashlyn referring herself as a"Drooling sex addict." I'll given the author credit she did provide some delicious smexy scenes...

great story but tough narration

the narration was very monotone and maybe matronly? Some of the sexy language and dialogue seemed odd at first coming from that voice. However the story itself was awesome

Am I the only one who hated this heroine?

The book was very well written. I loved it but that heroine was just downright annoying. She's clingy and needy and selfish and foolish . She's supposed to be a PhD student but can't fathom why this guy would want to figure out who he is. She's so busy focusing on the fact that another woman is present that she doesn't even consider his needs in the situation. I could go on and on about how unlikable she is as a character. Anyway, very good book. I definitely recommend it.

Incomplete

I enjoyed this book. The narration is good and the story build was well timed. Then.... it ends. There are several story threads unresolved. It’s a audible escape and I am glad I listened to it but I wouldn’t spend a credit

Twist and Turns.

You won’t be Disappointed at all.
I’m an avid reader now turned Audible listener.
The voices aren’t always spot on.
And in this one the woman is young and the voice is to mature for the character.
That’s IT.
Everything else Amazing!!!!
Wont regret.

Disappointed with this book

First let me say, I Love Kendall Ryan's books. But this one really fell short. I think it was really bad that a psych major falls for her subject. The professionalism was gone. You never find out why he lost his memory. That leaves you hanging.
The narrator Leah made it difficult to listen to. I liked the tone of her voice, but she paused way to long between sentences and every time she started a new sentence I could hear her breathe in. After that, it was a terrible distraction.

Story great, narrator not.

The story line was easy to follow. The narrator however kept changing tone and loudness such that if I adjusted the volume to hear her whisper when she talked loud it hurt. That made it near impossible to enjoy.

The reader isn't my favorite

I'm glad I could speed up the playback of the book. The reader dragged the story. The story was thin and really didn't go anywhere. I also thought there were some inconsistencies in the details but the Audible app was acting up during this book so I'm not entirely sure about that.

Too needy

I started out liking it ok. Seemed like way too much inner dialogue for my taste. I had to make myself not fast forward through some parts of her rambling. But the story was good. I liked the excitement of a new relationship, not just intimate, any relationship has a fun newness. Then as it went on Ashlin just seemed almost needy. Like she didn’t care about anything else, she just wanted “Logan” even when it seemed like he didn’t want her. She was willing to accept sexual favors but he didn’t want to be touched. It just put me off a bit. And she never said anything about him painting the other woman even when it was really bothering her, imho he started up the sexual relationship to try to get more memories back. Cause he kept saying he didn’t remember anything else, but kept painting more pictures of her and other things. Well he can’t paint them if he doesn’t remember them. The last few hours of the book just had this ick factor I hated! I finally broke down and fast forwarded a bit through a few conversations cause they were Uber awkward. I just couldn’t handle Ashlin and her… idk what to call it… closet neediness? 🤷🏻‍♀️ No self worth? Not willing to stand up for herself enough. I mean you can love someone and still stand up for yourself. Anyway, I just didn’t like the dynamic at the end. Loved the story line. Any maybe this was how things had to go to get to the end the way the author wanted it. It was just a bit awkward to listen to. But I liked it. I’d give it a listen if you don’t have anything else pressing. It’s not a waste of time or anything. I enjoyed most of it. And I’ve always been a little empathetic while watching movies and reading. People think im weird so the awkwardness might not be an issue for everyone else. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Good luck!
