New to Audible

A dark, smutty version of the Mary Poppins we all grew up with. Throw in a curse or two and the darkness of their pasts, this was a good retelling.
It could have used a bit more non-smutty world building, but it was very much worth the listen.

Listening to this while at work is not advisable if you blush easily. Her choice of the narrators sheer perfection.

Intense Storyline and Crisp Narration!

Rating 5/5
Plot 5/5
Writing 5/5
Spice 3/5
Narration 5/5

Loosely based on the classic tale of Marry Poppins, FEED THE BIRDS takes readers on a dark and gothic journey through Marigold Peppins’ quest to break a curse that has been set upon her. Barrett Blackford is a widower and has 2 children. He’s desperate to find someone who can help care for them. When Peppins answers an advertisement that Blackford posts, their worlds collide and their dark pasts converge forcing them to confront their demons.

This book was dark and twisted and such a fun listen!!! Narrators are usually a hit or miss for me and yet I loved Jaclyn and Para’s voices. The plot was intriguing, the characters were complex, and the narration was crisp!

Quick and entertaining!

I was very happy with this audible performance! I thought the story was well paced and easy to follow for a novella and was impressed with the backstory that the author added. Sometimes you loose some depth with novellas and I felt like it was still there. The narration was very well done- duet will always be top of the line for me.

THE ACCENTS!

I didn’t realize I needed a gothic reimagining of Mary Poppins, but apparently I did because I devoured this book! The plot was so unique and captivating with some great spice! The narration was next level! Not just the accents, but the range that both narrators brought was incredible, each character had their own distinct voice. There was so much passion and emotion brought by both narrators and it was definitely an amazing audiobook!

No HEA

Loved the narration, and most of the story, but no HEA ruined it for MD.

Amazing Performance, Incredible Story!

I loved this story and ran the gamut of emotions when eyeball reading it. Dakota broke me six ways to Sunday. But hearing it brought to life...both narrators carried such emotion...it was a performance, not just someone reading a book. The ghostly voices of the the spectors, the differentiatiin between characters and even when they were the storyteller rather than a particular character...I was invested. The sfx were perfectly placed and drew the reader into the story immediately. I cried again at the end....and I can always HOPE for more. Well Done to everyone! Oh! And the mention of Kat Blackthorne's Lady V??? I would love these 2 to have their own book! 💖

The Vibe is Perfection!

The flow of the storytelling is immaculate. I loved the way not only how the author set the scene but also how smooth narrators spoke. It was spectacular all in all 10/10!
