About this listen

Single Dad Beckley Bridges is sexy as hell. No, really, he's the hottest thing since the sun was created. Honest to God, crack an egg on him and the thing will sizzle. So what's the problem? He's also a gigantic jerk. I hate the bastard. I try to avoid him at all costs. But for some reason, everywhere I go he seems to show up. Only the real issue is his daughter, English. She's an adorable quirky first-grader who's the sweetest thing since iced tea. And she's one of my students but also the love of his life. So I have to deal with him on a professional level. It's not easy. On a scale of easy to hard, dealing with Beckley Bridges is like nails screeching across a blackboard. But when English's mother tries to gain custody after abandoning her on Beckley's doorstep as an infant, he'll do anything possible to keep her under his roof. That's how he ends up propositioning me. And crazy as it sounds? I find myself considering it.

For the love of English, literally

Beckley Bridges is a single dad. A hot (like seriously hot), young single dad. He was thrown into fatherhood when his daughter was literally left at his doorstep when he was nineteen. He loves his sweet little girl, English, and will do anything for her.

Sheridan is a brand new teacher. Her first job is teaching English's class. Her first encounter with Beckley is on a parent-teacher meeting to which he arrives two hours late and proceeds to be a major jerk to her. The dislike is mutual and she really can't understand how English can be such a sweet little girl with a dad like that.

Fast forward some time and Beckley spots the cute little Ms Sheridan in a bar his parents basically forced him to go to. She is having a great time with her roommate Michelle and has had a few drinks. Michelle meets a guy and leaves early, leaving Sheridan with no ride home AND no wallet or phone, as she was carrying these items for Sherida in her purse. Beckley comes to the rescue and drives her home. They soon start a friendship and he really appreciates how Sheridan loves his daughter.

Then, out of nowhere comes... THE MOM. She wants English back and says she will fight for custody. What is the cockamamie idea that his lawyer comes up with? Beckley has to be married to look good in court. Who's the best candidate for this "mail order bride"? You guessed it - Sheridan. And, for the love of English, she says yes.

The story is pretty much straightforward, as the two find each other getting closer and falling in love. It was pretty steamy as Beck loves to talk dirty to his wife and she certainly appreciates it. I thought that the custody battle lasted a little too long and the resolution was a bit "bombastic" for me, but it was a fun story to listen to!

The narration is done by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke. You can't go wrong with those. But if you came for Jason, be advised that he narrates a quarter of the book, tops. ;)

A CUTE KID IS ALWAYS A WINNER FOR ME

I must say when a cute kid is part of the story it makes it so much better. When I can get some hot sex and funny banter it's even better. When the narration is as good as these two were in this book makes the book even more enjoyable. Love it

Romance at its finest! Sweet, HOT, hilarious, a little of everything!

Ok so I hardly ever read blurbs, I usually listen if it's been recommended to me, or because I love the narrator. So I found this book because I love all things Jason Clarke and I totally loved it. I had no idea what it was about and I was very pleasantly surprised! it's an incredible story with lots of humor, hot hot 🔥🔥sexy scenes, and a realistic plot that you won't want to stop listening to. I can attest to this as I had to force myself to put it down at 3am. It's totally relatable, I love it when I connect to a character in a book, and the clumsy quirky H totally reminds me of myself. Be ready, Your heart will melt at how adorable English is ❤️❤️I highly recommend this!

Great Story

The only complaint I have was the breathy female narration. I wanted more Jason Clarke!

Highly Enjoyed this story and these Narrators!!

Loved this book!
This book brought out so many emotions.
It was funny and charming.
It was also heartclenching and full of angst.
This story is about a single father who will stop at nothing to keep his daughter safe and cared for.
When Beck is faced with a custody battle against English's biological mother, Beck turns to English's 1st grade teacher with an offer she finds she can't refuse.
Sheridan is a strong independent woman who has so much love in her heart. She agrees to help Beck but really she's doing it for English.
However, when Beck and Sheridan set out on their fake journey of playing the perfect family, they get so much more. English gets the mommy she's yearned for and Beck gets the wife he didn't know he truly needed much less wanted. Sheridan ends up getting the family she's longed for and in the end they climb mountains and hills to get to their happily ever after.
This was a beautiful story and I highly enjoyed it!
I listened to this on audio and would definitely recommend it.
Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke were FANTASTIC!!
Great Listen!!! Great Story!
Definitely will be reading more by this author and listening to these narrators in the future!!

5 For the Love of English Stars

I loved the single dad stories and this single dad totally had me from the get-go. My heart melted at the beginning of this book and it never seemed to solidify.

English was a fantastic character, not a lot of authors can truly capture children well and A.M does this in spades.

I also very much like Sheridan, she was more hesitant but she loves what she does and you can tell that right from the beginning. I loved everything about these characters and the growth they had to go through.

I was enthralled and couldn’t stop listening to this book. I want more like it, I really hope this author will have more Audiobooks because this was amazing and the narration was perfect.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Really solid single dad story. Great Narration

The story is divided into 3 sections. For some reason I had expected the story to go in a different direction, like more angst in regards to the couple's relationship, but basically they get together about 60% into the story so there was not too much build up on their end after that. The story centers around English, the 6yr old daughter, and the custody battle and the ups & downs of that process. Other than that I enjoyed the narration by both Jason Clarke & the always fabulous Erin Mallon.
