Publisher's summary

Evan Thomas. The name alone made me swoon. Imagine the chaos that sleeping with him created. Of all people, why him? First, he's my cousin's best friend...the cousin who had threatened to murder us both if we ever hooked up.

He’s also the one I'd crushed on since I wore braces and pigtails. If that wasn’t bad enough, I was a blank slate about the night we shared, thanks to Mr. Tequila. One passion-filled night with the man of my childhood dreams, wasted...or rather, I'd gotten wasted.

So, what happened next?

He carried out the most fabulous walk of shame and what a sight he was, sexy smirk and all. That had been the proper thing to do, right? Especially since Evan was enamored with that drunken rowdy side of me and decided we belonged together. But hot and sexy needed to get it through his head that we would never happen because he didn’t know me. The real me.

Besides, my cousin, aka his best friend, would kill us both. How was I to know what a tricky bastard he was and would bring me to my knees in no time flat? Evan was capable of unimaginable things, and I never expected to be the one begging for more. Nor did I expect for him to be my knight in shining armor when I needed him the most.

Really enjoyed this story ❤️ HEA are my faves!

There wasn’t much build up to a HEA because you reached there pretty quickly but that’s what I love about Hargrove’s stories, it’s like you get an extended story into their lives. Most books finish and your lucky to get a 5 min Epilogue. There are some tear jerk moments here So grab some tissues. Looking forward to the next West Sisters story!

Not so much..

This story was nice but I struggled to finish. There just wasn't a lot here to hold my interest. I really dont know many people that would head off to a skiing trip in CO the day after the funeral of a very dear loved one. 🙄 I always like the narration of Erin and Jason.

Very emotional book

This book was not at all what I expected. There were some parts I wish I’d been forewarned about. The story was fabulous but just wasn’t prepared for the loss of a parent in it. There’s absolutely no mention of anything of this in the description, so it hit me hard emotionally. I truly wish they would forewarn of things such as this.

Loved it!

This book is definitely worth the credit.
It was tearful that Silvy had endured such sadness at the height of her happiness…but i loved the HEA.

If you have experience with loss of family this will make you cry

I enjoyed hearing this story. Overall great read! I wasn’t a fan of how the leading lady was in the beginning when it came to treating the leading man but eventually she won me over. The emotional tyrant she became after she became pregnant was relatable but annoying. And It seemed like the author wanted to go some place with the crazy lady scene at Evans job but never did and felt slightly useless side story. Overall sad and happy story

Perfect

Loved this story. 100% audible listen, the narration was perfect, the families were great, the characters are worth reading about again and again. Evan and Sylvie were just too much, and I couldn't get enough. A definite must read

2.5 I REALLY WANTED TO LOVE IT

2.5 stars means it’s an okay listen - which it was.. but sadly it was just a meh okay listen for me because this couple had already hooked-up for a ‘one and done’ which wasn’t written about except in brief snippets. But the reformed player wanted more.. and after a very short iffy start where the heroine resisted for a few chapters, he won and they quickly became a couple.. and the rest of the story just seemed to be inconsequential filling to pad it out more. So I didn’t feel any anticipation or challenges to the romance, or climactic chemistry, or much angst and there really wasn’t anything to make this story standout.. and therefore it unfortunately just flatlined for me. Also, there were many depressing chapters about Sylvie’s Mom’s illness, the family struggles because of it.. and more! which was just sad and I didn’t want to feel sad.

Worth a credit? It dragged quite a bit towards the end and I eventually increased the speed to get to the end.. so unfortunately it’s a no.. and sadly not even Erin and Jason’s excellent dual PoV narration could make it exciting. But hey this is only my opinion, we’re all different and you may love love love it.
