A Good Listen

The blurb left so much in the shadows and I appreciate that. I do feel like there was so much thrust upon myself as the listener at the very beginning. There's a whirlwind of side stories, recollections, and (hopefully) teasers that could lead to something more. The narrators were great at conveying their connections to the characters. Looking forward to more!

Emotional and Surprising!

What a emotional shocking story! This has the high-highs of the bliss of a new relationship and the low-lows showing jealousy or betrayed feelings. I was surprised because I went in basically blind. The blurb doesn’t give a lot of information about what happens. It does say that Gray plans to get her back no matter what and I could *feel* the desperation coming off him. He wanted to just hold on once she showed back up. It made me feel all his emotions while going through this.

Overall its a good story and as briefly mentioned before it has a suspenseful/surprising look to it as well. I did like the relationship he has with his brothers and hope they will get their stories too.

I did listen to this in audio. Christopher Anthony and Isabelle Turner are both new to me narrators. They both are easy to listen to and did a good job encompassing the characters.

Excellent Story & Narration🎧Riveting & Heartfelt!

I enjoyed this book immensely, the story drew me in right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it the entire time. It is my first book written by K.L Kreig and certainly not my last, she is a gifted author with a wonderful writing style, her storylines are original and interesting and her characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Gray Calloway wanted Livia Kingsley the moment he laid eyes on her and when she said yes to her proposal, he was the happiest man. But that happiness did not last because that was the last he saw of her, she disappeared without a trace or a goodbye. She left him heartbroken and angry, then five years later he sees her again, but when she sees him she tries to run. Livia thought she was going to have everything, a life with happiness with the man she loved, but that is not what happens. Her loser of a father got himself in deep with his gambling habits and he was to pay his debt with his youngest daughter, but Livia could not let that happen to her younger sister so she stepped in for her and she had to leave that night and marry Peter Wilder, an older man, a made man, a a very cruel man. She lived a miserable life in a marriage lasted five years, only freed after his death, and it was one of his men, Grant, who helped her start over again. She attended an event with her roommate, Kamryn and that is where she saw him, the love of her life, but she could not face him, for what she had done to him and for the marriage she wound up in, once he found out he would not want her, anyway. Gray was determined to get her again, no one came close to her in the years she was gone. But can he handle the truth, all that she endured and what they did to her, and will he look at her differently? He did not have to look very far to find her and as much as she wanted to keep her distance, she couldn’t. I loved watching these two get to know each other again, but they both have secrets, secrets that can ruin everything they are trying to have, everything they want to have. There is never a dull moment in this cleverly plotted story, it has the perfect balance of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions, and some steamy romance. K.L. Kreig, thank you for this amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for wonderful narration, Christopher Anthony and Isabelle Turner did an amazing job bringing these characters and their story to life. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited their character’s persona and was believable in every role they played. You could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen.

Contrived Angst

Forsaking Gray starts with a bang and instantly sets the tone for this romance, but it was the artificially created angst that bodged down the story

Emotional!

This was my first K.L. Kreig's book and won't be my last. This is the first book in the Colloway Brothers Series. The cover is beautiful. Gray and Liva's story is well written, emotional, and enthralling. Liva's story is heartbreaking. She is so strong. Gray is enigmatic, and handsome. They are both interesting characters. Their relationship is filled with angst, and miscommunication. I liked the unpredictable twists and turns. The supporting characters are great and intriguing. This is a great second chance to love. Christopher Anthony and Isabelle Turner did a great job bringing this story to life. Looking forward to listening to Undeniably Asher, the next book in the series. #PFPAudio

Another Chance

Two young lovers, Grey and Olivia, just engaged and she suddenly disappears. Five years later once more Grey sees and pursues her with a mixture of hurt, anger and distrust. Olivia has secrets she finds herself unable to relay to Grey, yet she knows she must.
A story of misunderstanding, love, forgiveness and tolerance. I must say I had a bit less sympathy for Grey as he was unable to clearly look at what surrounded him when it came to Olivia and I would have liked to just tell him to grow up. Olivia forever carried on and was an excellent female lead
There is the possibility of great stories for the secondary characters of Grey’s brothers and Olivia’s friends
I very much enjoyed and would recommend this book.
Fantastic job by the narrators.

Overcoming the past and healing their souls!

This story is one of my all time favorites! What a rollercoaster ride of emotions it is! Both seemed to have had it all until Livie was forced to do the unthinkable to protect her sister. There are many ups and downs but the couple begins to heal and overcome the challenges they faced!
The narrators both did an excellent job! I loved this story and hope there are more audibles to come!

Emotional Second Chance Romance

Wow, what a crazy ride that was!  I really enjoyed my first book by K.L. Kreig!  I found myself on a rollercoaster of emotions in this book and a bit frustrated by Livia’s lack of communication.  Gray and Livia were engaged and meant to be together forever until something happened to separate them (no spoilers here).  When they inadvertently meet up years later, Gray won’t let her out of his sight because he wants her back forever.  I loved Gray’s persistence to love Livia and not want to know what happened to her all those years ago, but it was tough for them.  They both really were soul mates and needed to be together.  I loved Gray’s family and how they were always there for him.  At times I found some things in the story tough to listen to, but it was such a great story and Gray and Livia just needed to communicate and work together to get there.  The narration was great!

3.5 stars

Really enjoyable but I don’t really understand after a threat was over why you wouldn’t just tell the mmc the story when/if you saw him again.

I guess that’s the whole story right but it just annoyed me slightly.

Also small town living I thought out fmc would have at least seen photos of her mmcs twin in the house especially when they are everywhere in the home description. I’m guessing something happened with the twin and the father and I wouldn’t mind listening to his story at a later date.

Enjoyable narrative worth the listen 3.5 stars
