Publisher's summary

When alpha female Galina Sudenko agreed to attend her distant cousin's birthday party, she wasn't counting on meeting the devastatingly handsome and powerful rom alpha Andrey Lupesco or having her sexy times with him interrupted by the murder of her idiot brother-in-law, Sergei. But such is life when your father is one of the most powerful werewolves within Seattle's supernatural Russian organized crime syndicate. Not content with being just a pretty face and good breeding stock, Galina sets out to make her mark within the family. But in doing so, she runs afoul of her eldest brother, Alexei, the heir apparent to the family dynasty. He has no intention of ceding his position without a fight. Andrey and Galina's burgeoning romance is threatened when she discovers that before his death, Irina's husband, Sergei, hijacked Andrey's shipment of the werewolf drug bullet, a synthetic drug that gives the supernatural creatures a cocaine-like high. Sergei's theft means that Andrey had a reason to have Sergei killed, leaving Galina to decide whether to risk trusting Andrey even as her feelings for him deepen.

As her brother Alexei's behavior becomes more erratic, Galina must find the missing shipment, prove to her family that she'll be a capable leader, and decide whether her lover, Andrey, can be trusted before she can hope to challenge her brother for his position as head of the family. A tale full of sexy werewolves, forbidden love, family power struggles, and danger closing in, Gia Corona and Jacey Conrad's From Russia with Claws will leave you howling for more!

sexy story

Overall this was a decent listen. There were some plot avenues that were opened but never mentioned again and it felt as though they were details that fell through the cracks and were then missed by the editors.

So Many Negative Reviews....not warranted

Yes this is co written by Molly Harper and given she used a different name it obviously meant she wanted to do something she completely different.

This is not her usual pun abundant, witty repartee, light hearted story with a dash of sex and romance. It's a bit more dramatic and lusty. The story is fairly solid but if you've read a lot of books in this genre you can pretty much predict where a story will go. So no surprises there.

The narration isn't bad but I feel that a slightly longer pause between sentences would have made it easier to follow and given more definition to the events happening. Amanda Ronconi really couldn't have done this story more justice than Natasha Volkov. Kudos to her, her male and female voices were good and she didn't butcher the Russian.

Worth the credit but don't compare it to Molly's normal fare, she tried something new and it wasn't as bad as others have said.

This review is written by someone who has over 1400 books on her ipod classic. Has listened to those 1400 books more than once and is adding to the list frequently. I also had to take the not so great books off to make room for more.

From Russia With Claws won't be going into my "not on ipod" folder any time soon.

I really enjoyed this book!

I am a big fan of Molly Harper and her snark and humor in her other books. There is some of that in this one and it did make me laugh a few times but this wasn't your regular Molly Harper book which I think is why she is using a different name for it which is fine for me. I knew going in that there was going to be more sex and violence and I have read and listened to my share of erotic books and this one fit right in with the rest of them. I think it worked well with the story because it was darker all around with the Mafia and werewolves and murder and romance I think it was very well put together. I really enjoyed the characters and I hope to see more in the future. I was a little unsure of the narrator at first but after a little while she grows on you and she does the Russian accent really well. I know some people have said if you like Molly Harper don't read this book but I have to say I love Molly Harper and I enjoyed this book I think it adds another layer to her writing and I hope to see more of this in the future. If you like erotic books with werewolves and a HEA and some humor and family fun then this is the book for you.

Good premise. Terrible delivery.

I typically love Molly Harper, and was hoping this would be as good, but it was just OK. The main problem for me was the horrible narration that sounded like a teenager trying to sound like what she imagines adults sound like. The sex scenes were delivered in constant, grating vocal fry. The rest was delivered in a flat, weird (to me) style that I cannot get into. Not interested in the next book now, which is very disappointing.

Not your average Molly Harper book

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

While the narrator did her best, this was not what I expected and the main characters were not very likable.

What was one of the most memorable moments of From Russia with Claws?

None.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was actually quite good.

Was From Russia with Claws worth the listening time?

Not really. The story had no grip and listening to a girl whine about how horny she is was not a good time.

disappointed

SO looking forward to this. Alas, those erotic passages were TOO many, TOO descriptive -- took much away from what was otherwise a fairly enjoyable story. Having 7 decades to my credit, "been there, done that---and more" says I'm no prude. I just wanted more story, less sex. I won't buy another.

it was good but...

I liked the story, and I liked the places she took the plot, but it was really hard for me to get bast the horrible narrator.

I can understand why a different name

I am so glad I got this after enjoying other Molly Harper books. Had I not I probably would never have enjoyed her other wonderful books. The sex scenes in this book were more descriptive in an Ewww way. I had to make myself finish it.

It was... Ok

I did like the story. I didn't like the narrator. The story was alright. A run of the mill romance. Enjoyable. I didn't think this was Molly Harper quality though. It was too basic and too predictable. It was good for a romance novel, but not up to Molly Harpers usual standards
