Publisher's summary

Caroline Jane (CJ) Ellison has a gift for analysis. When a Wall Street deal goes bad, the choice between prison or the Interstellar Brides Program is a no-brainer. She’ll go. She’ll leave Earth, her past, and her mistakes behind. The decision is logical, not emotional. Until she wakes up on another world with a huge Atlan Warlord, her matched mate, refusing to claim her.

Warlord Rezzer is contaminated. Weak. The Hive captured him and stole his soul, his very beast. A mate is out of the question when he can’t become what he was born to be, a beast, her mate, her protector. Forced into the Brides Program testing against his will, Rezzer has no intention of claiming the beautiful, sassy female who arrives on the Colony. The Hive stole his beast, but not his honor. He vows to give her to another, a worthy male, a beast who is whole - one not hunted by the Hive as part of a dangerous new experiment to win the war.

CJ takes one look at the wounded warrior before her and knows she will never be able to let him walk away. He’s hers now, her perfect match. And if that means she has to seduce the beast or face off with the Hive to save him...that’s exactly what she’s going to do. She lived her life following the rules. With everything on the line, it’s time to break them.

The best one so far in the series!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💙❤️💚💜
Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📘📙📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌏🌎
Character development: 🙃😊😉😛🥰
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Caroline (a.k.a. C.J.) - she is a financial analyst on Wall Street after a deal she worked on is flagged by the SEC as insider trading, she has a choice between joining the Interstellar Brides Program and going to jail so immediately gets tested for the Program and a mate is found for her. She knew that she only had to do the testing to get out of jail. She plans on rejecting her match after the 30-day trial period and then she will be free to live her life. She wasn’t happy to find out if she rejected her initial match, she would only be matched to someone else on the planet.

The Hero: Warlord Rezzer (a.k.a. Rez) - he is a massive Atlan warrior and was captured by the Hive and is now considered contaminated since he is now a cyborg with Hive technology as part of his being. He lives on the colony with other ‘contaminated’ males who fought in the war and were also captured, tortured and experimented on by the Hive. Rezzer’s time with the Hive was exceptionally bad and his beast was stolen. He feels that he is unable to have a mate but is forced into the Interstellar Brides Program testing and thinks a mate for him is a bad idea.

The Story: This story got steamy from the start, and it was pretty hot when Caroline was in the testing facility. I think the fact that in the testing simulation, Rez’s beast couldn’t talk in complete sentences and was uber dominant made it even hotter. You had to feel for Rez because true Atlan warriors all have an inner beast and when he found out his was gone, he he lost a big part of his identity. His friends on the colony think that a mate might just be able to bring his beast back, so they force him to do the Interstellar Brides Testing. It was the beast that was responsible for mating, so he thought he wasn’t worthy of a female.

I have to admit, I really like this world of misfit cyborgs. They have been thrown away by their home planets since they are contaminated with the Hive Tech, but they have made a pretty good new home on the Colony. I especially liked Rez and the fact that he had this beast within him. When it came out, he grew like a foot, his muscles got bigger, it reminded me of the Hulk.

This audiobook was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Heather Firth and Aaron Shedlock. Aaron is another of my favorite male narrators (I have a bunch of them), he has a nice sexy voice and speaks so naturally, you can hardly tell he is reading. Heather does a great job and has a soft, feminine voice which is extremely pleasant.

An entertaining listen

Entertaining for the most part, but CJ constantly saying, "What?" all the time got me feeling like Samuel L. Jackson in Pulp Fiction. The first dozen times it was getting old then annoying enough for me to honestly consider skipping the rest of the book. I admit Rezzer wasn't a favorite character but he wasn't awful. CJ chose to get tested and sign up to the Brides program to avoid jail time. I don't blame her for that, but if you knew that was an option, before making a choice, I would research the various races of alien I might get matched with. CJ didn't. She actually seems to not know anything about them except they're male, alien, and live on another planet. All in all, I consider it good time spent especially when it was a freebie.

Listen to all the Interstellar Bride books

I love all of the Interstellar Bride books regardless of the series, & they all flow & interact with each other. So just as a FYI: The best way to listen to all the Interstellar books (bride, cyborg, beast, virgin) is to listen to them in order of release date & book #. Do not listen to them separately solely based on the individual series because all of the series' books interact with the characters & timelines from the other books in all the different Interstellar Bride series.

The saga continues

Another great installment in this series; each book has something a little different than the others to keep it interesting. This one made me laugh in how the characters dealt with each other; there personal thoughts read out loud. She knew how to deal with him; but seems once she got him where she wanted him, she went from being strong to self-doubt and wimpy? All of the books seem to go in this direction which makes no sense to me. Narrators did a great job! Onto the next book!

Another beast tamed

This one has a pretty interesting story. The hives wanted to suppress the beast of an Atlan warrior and try to produce hives with no contamination. But having him meet his interstellar bride changed that. The colony now has more babies around. I love all of MS Goodwin''s story. Every single one. Happy listening!!!

Great Storyline!

I loved everything except the female's masculine voice. I wish the male's voice was spoken by the male narrator at all times, and the female's voice spoken by the female narrator's voice at all times.
