Didn’t think I would like the book but the more I listened the more I like. Now that Jamie and Alex has joined together may the other two girls will get to join Jamie.
The narrators are great love hearing the two different voices. Love the author now for the next book.

I thought that this was a good starting point for this series and I can't wait to listen to the next in the series.

Wow interesting story line!

The Starfighter series has a lot of potential. With the game/training premise and the worldbuilding plus the ongoing plot of war- there's just So much to draw from there. All 3 of these books could easily be twice as long. As it is, the balance of story to smut isn't great.
As far as performances go, they've utilized the 2 VAs interestingly. The chapters are written alternating from the 2 mc's perspectives, so the VA's are reading whenever it's their point of view (as opposed to them each performing as their characters speak). This method has the both of them impersonating one another And all the side characters. To me at least- this means that sometimes it's confusing connecting interactions with the side characters through the chapters.
Overall, not bad, it's free.. and Tor Thom sounds quite hunky.

cute sci-fi erotic romance

Almost believable, what with all the mess going on right now all around the globe!

Very interesting new Starfighter Series

I really enjoyed this one! This was a great start to a new series. I enjoyed the premise of the video game being a training academy and the pair they chose actually matching up. It was cool and different and I found the story engaging and entertaining throughout. I enjoyed Jamie and Alex and how they connected and worked through the misunderstandings and shock that came with the game being real. I can’t wait to get the rest of the stories and for Jamie to be reunited with her friends/team as they worked so well together.
The narrators did a good job with the characters and story and adding that extra dynamic to bring it to life.

Fun story!

I enjoyed the story of Alexi and Jamie, but the narration was really working for me. I stopped listening to the book several times over the course of a week because the different voices appeared to be overly emphasized, and I couldn't imagine a supposed strong Star fighter would sound the way its narrated.
Maybe, it's just me, but I didn't really enjoy the audio narration.

I enjoyed the story, but narration wasn't for me

awsome book

This book was written by Grace Goodwin. It’s about a female human, video games, Aliens, war, love, sex, traitors, and more. Wasn’t one of my favorite stories written by Grace but it does have a lot of twists and turns.

That voice! I’ve listen to the same narrator many times, but this time I actually wanted to get a “good girl”…and that’s not my kink. (Ok, a little, but adults called children during adult play is gross to me.) It had sci-fi, romance, and good narration…if it had been longer and more sophisticated it would have a very good book. It was short, sweet, I enjoy the author, and I enjoyed both narrators.

It’s become truly rare to find two performers working on a romance novel without one being painfully bad. Having two that are appropriately voiced is exceptionally rare (we’ve all listened to at least 20 or more books with the 21 year old female protagonist played by what sounds like a 60 year old who was a chain smoker through the 70s, 80s, and 90s, and currently has a severe head cold and a collapsed lung), then there are those performers who can’t pronounce any word with more than 5 letters or that the pronunciation is exactly how it looks (heaven forbid one do any prep work for each project, or know common “borrowed” words that retain their original language pronunciation, worse…if there is a French word, or WORSE a Welsh word or Irish name).

So bravo on the success of the publisher and agents coming together to actually care what the resulting product sounds like.

Best narration by a male in romance

Review of audiobook borrowed through Audible Plus.
The Publisher’s Summary for this book is ok as a minimum.
Jamie Miller is a single woman from Baltimore who has been working her way to the top of the Starfighter Training Academy Multiplayer Game. Her daytime job is package delivery. Her nights are all about flying - with speed, accuracy, tactics and iron nerves. Her Friday and Saturday operations team includes Lily & Mia, who are also in the top rankings on Earth for their specialties. They are determined to win against Queen Raya and the Dark Fleet in protecting Valeria.
How shocking when Jamie wins and finds out it’s all real - Valeria, Alexius, Queen Raya, the Dark Fleet. Yes, it’s a variation of the 1984 movie The Last Starfighter, but it’s nicely done in a framework of romance and sexy times.
So Goodwin has become KSA Publishing has become a ghost writing factory under her author name?
I’m happy the audio was recorded as a dual narration.

is this a ghost written series?
