About this listen

Ben is the last unattached member of the five-man executive team of K&A Associates. The other four, all Masters, have found the submissives of their dreams. That's fine. The sharp-edged lawyer knows he's the most hardcore of them all, with extreme tastes as a Master he satisfies physically through experienced club submissives. He doesn't really need anything more.

Marcie has loved Ben since she was 16. He's never behaved as anything more than a protective big brother, a family friend. But now she's 23 and starting her career as a corporate investigator. She may be a blood-and-bone-deep submissive, but she won't hesitate to use her aggressive talents to prove she's meant to be his. With a Master as tough as Ben, she'll have to take whatever measures are needed - even if her deepest desire isn't a hostile takeover of his heart, but an unconditional surrender to it.

Hostile Takeover

I absolutely love the men of K&A. They are strong Alpha males. Ben is the last of the pack to find his happily ever after. I found this book was a bit drawn out. Where the other books have the men going after their women with vigor, Ben is the one pursued in this book. I loved that Marcie was strong enough for both of them, and she was relentless in her pursuit, but there was a bit too much of that. I liked that the chapters started with the letters, texts and phone calls between them, so we could see the background to their relationship. I would have liked to see more flashbacks to Ben's past to help with why he kept pushing her away.

The last Knight falls, magnificently.

This is Ben’s story. Not for the faint of heart, this is a complex, disturbing and at times positively brutal story. Ben is the most hardcore member of The Knights of the Boardroom. Marcie has loved Ben forever. Unfortunately, Ben still thought of Marcie as a kid and refused to take her very adult wants and desires seriously, Marcie knows one thing and one thing only, she is Ben’s forever, and he is hers. The problem? Getting Ben to see it. The writing is magnificent, the narration perfect, the flow smooth, and for me, the tears plentiful. Like the other books in this series, Hostile Takeover is hot, blisteringly hot, naughty, forbidden, and more than a bit taboo,

l prefer a little story with my audio porn. severa

narration was good and I think had their been a little more story line with obvious sex passages but it seemed the story line was just to keep the BDSM parts from bumping into one another. a little much for me.

Not for Everyone but you might surprise yourself!

Maxine Hill was par excellence as the narrator of the book. She used subtle voice inflections as well as smooth reading to perfectly capture the pain and, especially, the pleasure. Joey W. Hill plotted, paced and wrote to an amazing level. I honestly did not expect a book centering on a Master/slave/Dominant/submissive to be as well done as it was. The darker edge of dark: dive in, you might surprise yourself.

HOT Sexy!!

This story was very HOT and quite the turn on. Narrator conveys the emotions well and brings you into the story as if you are there with the characters.

Another Winner

This is a powerful book for those of us who like the darker side of the darker side. As with every book in this genre, the characters' resistance to taking the step we all know they're going to take gets a little annoying. However Ms. Hill makes the details and nature of that resistance sufficiently entrancing. Marcie is a delightful character. She is ballsy in a way that makes her desire for total submission compelling. Starting each chapter with correspondence between Marcie and Ben is a great way to briefly recount important backstory issues as well as foreshadow future events.. Very clever device and another example of why I love Joey W. Hill's work so much
Maxine Mitchell, as always is right on the money. Her voice is like so much honey but morphs to the characters as needed. She brings Marcie to life. Just one thing Ms. Mitchell, the word is Naulins at worst New Orluns, But never, ever.... ever! New Orleens. That pronunciation makes it clear from the get-go that the person using it not only knows little about Naulins but has not done the homework necessary to properly represent NOLA culture. It pulls me up like fingernails on the blackboard every time I hear it. Petty? Yes. But, well, fingernails on the blackboard!
Hill has one of the most imaginative minds in the setup and execution of BDSM scenes I've encountered and the scenes in this book are no exception. I'm convinced she could train Doms to do the real deal. She is either in the lifestyle or is some kind of BDSM savant. Many of the scenes are accompanied by the initial reader reaction of Holy F**k! how does she come up with this stuff!? Then of course one must deal with the visceral response the scenes elicit. Suffice it to say that clothing must be adjusted frequently.

Hostile takeover

Wow, first time experiencing this kind of book. I wondered if I could do what these women do and it scared me. No other comments on the subject.

I like it, but it’s not for everyone

From the K&A men Ben is probably the most intriguing. Like the other stories, this is a mix between SSC and dub-con. With Marcie being so young and inexperienced it had me frowning a few times. In the end, all is good and all will be forgiven though.
Maxine Mitchell is a professional who does a great job. Although I prefer duo/duet reading, she still deserves a solid 5-star review for her performance.

another good one

this book is a good read, at some points it felt like it was dragging but it was a good smooth read. I loved the story and I love the female character. Although she is a sub, she is very head strong and a no nonsense kind of girl
