About this listen

I always take out my target . . . until her.

Bosa: I have many talents and they're all for hire. My best skill is hunting the dregs of the galaxy, and when I find my prey . . . let's say no one ever hears from them again. My latest target is a human trafficker, and the kicker is . . . she's human. Selling her own kind? I'll relish this. But when I find there's more to her story than I've been told, suddenly I'm not sure who's hunting who.

Karina: I've heard of the big Kaluma with a spiked bat, so I know evading him won't be a cake walk. As my assassin, he's ruthless. Until he finds out my truth. Now he's sticking by my side, claiming me as his mate, and I can't believe it but . . . I think I'm falling for the cocky alien with glowing blue eyes.

Contains mature themes.

The male speaker doing the female character, his voice at times made it hard listen. But overall a great storyline.

Great storyline

I really liked the story except when the male narrator had to do the FMC voice. I really couldn't stand the way he voiced her. The story itself was enjoyable though

Enjoyable

Ella Maven is an autobuy author for me and I was so excited to see a new series on audio! Karina is running out of time and luck…. Or is she? Karina is no longer on Earth and is also trying to make the best of a very unfortunate situation. After escaping the clutches of her captors, she is intent on destroying all the cargo ships owned by said previous owner…. This is where our MMC comes in.

Kaluma, Bosa - Alien Assassin was hired to obtain, whom he thought was a human trafficker to the council. After capturing Karin and leaving her at the capital, something just didn’t feel right. Bosa who is riddled with guilt for female from a past that effected his own people and their females, he feels the need to go back and help get Karina out of whatever trouble she has gotten herself into..,.. but when he learns the whole truth…nothing will stop him.

The narration was good - duet narration for this would have been better. I am about to start book 2!

I love Ella Maven!

I love the Drix and the Kaluma. I fell in love when they were just stories to read. I fell even harder for the Drix when it came out on Audible. I've been waiting, not patiently, for the stolen warriors and the Kaluma to come out on audio. The stolen didn't disappoint, besides some mispronounciation. we'll, I do have a problem with the sexy Kaluma, sounding 70 years old. And when the male Narrator does a female voice, the female sounds 90 years old. It's really hard to listen to very hot sexy scenes read to you by your grandpa. sorry. The female Narrator doing the male voice is 100 times better than the actual male Narrator. The story is really good, though.

good, but!

Romance: 💚💜💙❤️🩷

Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 😒🥺😀🙂
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The heroine: Karina - she wasn’t optimistic about living another day. She was a human who was abducted from earth, spending time at a dive bar in a crappy space station that was nicknamed “bad seed”. Her disguise was melting away and she was panicking while listening in on the conversation of two large green horned aliens who were loan sharks. Since she got free of her initial captors, she has upgraded her translator to be able to understand all types of alien species. They were talking about a Kaluma assassin that was out looking for her and his reputation was that he never failed.

The Hero: Bosa - he is an assassin and bounty hunter, whose favorite weapon was a spiked bat, and he is the best at what he does. He is from a race called the Kaluma, who were massive. His latest assignment was to go after a trafficker of human females. He held no mercy for someone who would do that, and his hatred grew even more when he found out that she was a human herself.

The Story: Karina was letting the legend of the assassin mess with her head. She wanted off the station and had been gathering credits by cleaning up for a few of the businesses. She went back to her lodging to get her necklace, the one possession she always took with her, since it was from her grandmother. She got rid of her disguise, because the one person who would take her off the station, only knew her as her human self. That was when the Kaluma found her. Bosa was stupefied when he saw her pendant and paused long enough for Karina to run.

Bosa eventually caught up with her and told her why he was bringing her to the council, though she had no clue what he was talking about when he said her crime was that of capturing and selling other humans. The two ended up running together from the aliens that Karina had escaped from and was sabotaging, and they got to know each other slowly.

I really liked this story and the two main characters. There was plenty of steam and one great thing about aliens, is that they can have some pretty great attributes. Bosa had a vibrating, whirling, twirling, pulsing appendage, and a tongue that opened up like a flower with some sort of sucking mechanism. All in all, he had the best of today’s intimate toys all in one big sexy male package.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in dual narration by Jillian Macie and Todd Mclaren. Jillian has a nice, expressive voice and always does a great job, especially with alien romance. Todd Mclaren has a decent voice, but definitely not one of my favorites, I like a stronger, deeper voice for a massive alien.

Enjoyable relationship!

it was okay. needed to be more developed. it was subpar. needed more back story building. narrators needed some work. it was okay, could be better.

Definitely not my favorite alien romance book. The woman’s voice for the main female lead was painful to hear. I had to grit my teeth through the entire story just to finish listening to the complete book. Perhaps I am the only one who feels that way and I just had to express my opinion. As to the story line, it had great promise but was lack luster and didn’t have real depth to it - again my opinion. I just know she did better than I as a writer since I have never written a book but as someone who is an avid romance audiobook purchaser, I was not pleased with this book. I guess if it hadn’t started out so promising let me down so much. However, I do wanna say that the male character’s voice was fine and he did a great job. So please don’t hold any of this review against that voice actor.
