About this listen

Space ship travel when you've been kidnapped sucks. I don't get a pillow, there's no snacks, and worst of all—the whole ship crashes. Except, it doesn't crash on Earth, or even Mars. Nope, I'm in a whole new galaxy on a foreign planet and some body-builder-looking blue horned aliens with lots of piercings have decided I'm their new play thing. And not in a good way.

Until one alien decides he's not going to share, and maybe I have a concussion from the crash, because I'm all about the possessive way he protects me. But there's no way he'll fight his whole clan for me . . . right?

Contains mature themes.

Alien Warrior

Short but very exciting book. Terror, Journeys, Fun and Love. What an adventure. Aliens can be scary and some not so much. Enjoy

Loved!

It was so nice to hear Anna's story. It was short but very sweet. ❤️

Entering book but it’s very simple

I liked the male narrators voice a lot but not the female narrator. The story is entertaining but it’s too simplistic for me.

Just when you think Heather Costa can’t be worse…

What was she doing with that silly dialect? And the inflection during the wrong moments…they just made love and the leading lady starts talking like she’s elating about her auntie’s best sweet pickle recipe at the county fair.

I feel for Ms. Costa’s vocal cords. She surely has nodes, as one can hear her voice shred over her ridiculously surprising career as the Audible book world’s greatest romantic novel listeners’ ear murderer. She can sound clear when doing side characters or this ridiculous southern mash up, but sounds like she needs hot lemon and honey water the rest of the time. I can’t even stay focused on books she narrates! I hope she makes enough off all of these books to afford insurance to get those nodes removed!

Why the random accent?

With the quickie length, this prequel is a decent teaser for the series. There’s an info dump explaining the basic premise of technologically advanced aliens who are nonetheless living on a MadMax, primitive biker clan-ish world were introduced to Tark, his studded (ahem) attributes, and his instant protectiveness towards Ana. You’ll hear the formula for the series, including the virginal (but tutored in the art of sex) alien beefcakes, the use of F(leck) bombs just like humans use them (for example “mother flecking”), and ladies going from ‘eek, aliens’ to ‘yes, yes, YES! Alien Os!’ in the blink of an eye,

This is a standalone and can be listened to in any before, during or after the rest of the series because it doesn’t have any of the future FMCs around and doesn’t tie into the series arc beyond the stranded by evil aliens plot. For some reason Ana is given a strong (Southern?) accent- this, combined with the super short length, meant I didn’t get very invested in either MC.
