This one didn't measure up for me

I loved the first two books about Alexander and Elizabeth, but struggled to get through this one. The female narrator was different and just put me to sleep, although I love Shane East.

Excellent End to the Series

This was an excellent end to an exceptional series. The love story was sexy and hot. There were other elements that had me on the edge of my seat I could not stop listening to the book until the end, which was close to 4:00 am by then. The narrators were perfection.

Wonderful and Suspenseful Story!

This is the fourth book in the Series. I loved it so much! This is my favorite in the Series. You can listen to this audiobook as a standalone, but really, you don't want to miss one book in this Series! Nick and Sophia's story has it all: hot, suspenseful, action packed, and captivating. They share an instant attraction and a strong chemistry. The secondary characters are also very interesting. I love the ending. I totally recommend this book and this Series. The narration was perfection! I love Shane East's voice and he is perfect as Nick. Sandra Lea is a new narrator to me. She has a great voice, easy to understand. I will listen to this story (and Series) again. I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily written this review.

Good story - Love Shane East

For some reason, I just couldn’t buy Sandra Lea. It was her tone I think.

All about trust...

This was a nice accompaniment to Alex and Elizabeth’s story in the previous books. Poor Nick! Granted he made some crappy life choices, but grief will do that to a person. But my gosh, he really paid for those choices many, many times over in this book! I just kept thinking...How can things get any worse? But then they did!! And Sofia just gets swept up in his drama, while dealing with her own. She’s the real hero in this book! The only part of the story I wasn’t thrilled with was the very end...it would be nice to have some sort of follow up.
Shane East is my all time favorite male narrator! I was kind of enjoying his American accent...but thank God he still narrated the unspoken parts with his sexy British voice! The emotion he put into Nick was amazing! You could just feel his excruciating pain and hurt and anger! It was great! Performance would have been 5 stars if he had done the whole book.
This was the first time I’ve heard Sandra Lea. She did a good job. Not as emotive as some of the better female narrators I usually listen to. And she really should have followed the past books in knowing that Nick grew up in America, so didn’t have a British accent. But that wasn’t her fault, it was an editing issue/communication with the author problem. But she was enjoyable to listen to.

Conflicted: Silly but I still listened to all 4

I've just wrapped the 4th story and I'm regretting that. In hindsight if it weren't for the performances I doubt I would have finished, even so I listened to several parts at 2x speed.

Romances are not great literature, the vast majority wouldn't even rate as 'good' literature. They are intended as a distraction, generally don't make you think much and are quickly forgotten when finished. That said these stories were sprinkled with over the top scenarios (a multi-billionaire unable to scrape up more than $10K???, violent criminals behind every door), ridiculously extreme characters (estranged parents, siblings without a smidgen of empathy) and absurd main characters (who the author wants to paint as independent by having them refuse help, freely offered, no matter how desperate their own situation and how minor that assistance is, the net result is those characters appear stupid rather than independent). The sum of these over-the-top, extreme and ridiculous situations is a series of stories that rather than being pleasant entertainment that fades into the background they become discordant noise that intrudes on what you are doing as the brain refuses to accept the absurdity.

So I'm conflicted....the narrators did their best and that was pretty good...if you are better at suspending disbelief than I you might enjoy these books, for me?....well meh.

Brother Nicholas has plenty of bad luck

This last book in the series includes plenty of action. Nicholas meets his girl but both these two have a lot of challenges and have gotten themselves in trouble. The narration is good with plenty of action. A bit too long though.

Decent BDSM story

Decent story, good performance. Missing real connection within characters so just so so for me.
