Publisher's summary

After their umpteenth breakup, Brad Sweeney and Jeff Hayden are living apart and starting over from scratch. The morning after a promising first date, they’re more optimistic than ever that they can make it work this time.

Until Jeff’s ex-wife and business partner calls to announce she’s pregnant...with Jeff’s baby.

Brad’s already competing with a demanding business for Jeff’s time. Now there’s a baby on the way, and worse, he’s afraid Jeff is still carrying a torch for the woman who’s carrying his child.

Jeff is desperately trying to keep everything in his life together, but before he can even get his head around the news that he’s going to be a father, his ex announces she wants to leave Tucker Springs. Now he has to either take over her role at the shop while ferrying the baby back and forth from Denver, or move the business - and himself - with her.

Brad and Jeff knew reconciliation wouldn’t be easy, but they’re rapidly running out of room for compromise. And sooner or later, something has to give.

This previously published book is number seven in the Tucker Springs series and can be enjoyed as a stand-alone.

L. A. Witt & Nick J. Russo are amazing together 👏

I've never read or listened to a book where the beginnings of a romance happened off page/screen and so now the book itself is what's left out of the wreckage of a failed romance that both characters are trying desperately to save. From start to finish I never felt like there was something missing or should have been included to make me understand how and why Brad and Jeff couldn't seem to get it together - this is what I love about L.A. Witt - she keeps things real and simple and with Nick J. Russo's performance what's real and simple gets enhanced to the upteenth power. In 99.9 % romance we don't get to see the sausage making of a relationship after both parties have admitted they loves each other, moved in and playing house. Sometimes forever really isn't forever and "It's Complicated" brings it home that it is highly likely that your favorite couple could break up in a few years. But Witt - of course - delivers that true HEA after the battles and emotional scars that Jeff and Brad racked up in their journey and even better; she gives us the sense that although Jeff and Brad will have many fights in the future; they now have the tools to deal with them instead of breaking up. Who would have thought a book about a couple breaking up to make up multiple times would end up being so romantic? The last 40 min where Jeff has his epiphany and subsequent scene of convincing Brad to try again was at first tear inspiring then it became 🔥!

5 starz - I would listen again

Emotional read

The story itself is rather straightforward. What makes it so compelling is the performance. Nick Russo reads it with such emotion that it brings tears to your eyes and a flutter to your heart.
