From the author of Mastered and Dominated comes the third Enforcers novel - the searing story of a woman who finds sanctuary in surrender....
He can't change who he is....
A horrific childhood has made Silas the man he is today: dangerous, distrustful, and demanding. He's lived in self-imposed solitude, convinced that no woman could ever accept his need for absolute control - in business and pleasure. That is, until a young violinist walks into one of his buildings and into his life.
She can't change what she wants....
Haley has been struggling to fulfill her father's dying wish: to attend a prestigious music school in New York City. But even working two jobs, she can't afford the tiniest of apartments. Seeing her hopeless and near tears, Silas vows to help and protect her, no matter the cost to himself. But when Haley meets his every demand with unwavering acceptance and love, he is overwhelmed by her goodness and gentle spirit. He knows that the dark stain on his soul can never be erased - and rather than risk destroying the most beautiful thing he's ever experienced, he knows he'll have to do the hardest thing he's ever had to face. Let her go. But he's totally unprepared for the lengths Haley will go to fight for his love and a future brighter than the sun....

Ask any fan and they’ll tell you that it’s not always easy to find something that has the same kind of tension and payoff as the Fifty Shades trilogy. Here are some books and series that fans of Fifty Shades are sure to love.

We meet Silas in the first book. He's the enforcer and so dangerous that even the other brothers fear him. His past is dark and tragic; he's a hot muscular drool worthy dominant who values his privacy and lives a quite life. With the type of work Silas is involved in security is a priority. He owns a small apartment building in Manhattan that probably has the best security in town.
Lenore is a country girl from Mississippi who received a partial music scholarship to a school in Manhattan. She's been house sitting and now has to find a place of her own. Everywhere she goes the rent is too high. When she goes into the building Silas owns he sees her on the security monitors, that are in his apartment, he sees her goodness, her innocence, she reminds him of Evangalene from Book 1 & 2. So Silas instructs his manager to rent to Lenore the apartment next to his at a very cheap price. This is their story....
There is romance, action, suspense, detailed sex, and humor but this isn't an instalove/sex story. Silas watches Lenore, knows her schedule and routine (may sound like a creeper but he's not). He keeps a distance because he doesn't think he good enough for her and doesn't want to bring her into his world of crime and danger.
Maya Banks has created a brotherhood that you instantly like and become invested in.
Jeremy York gives an entertaining performance. It took a little while to get used to his female voice. She's feisty and snarky with a country accent. The country accent is lacking but I didn't take points away because I think the publisher should've had a female performer.
Absolutely worth a credit/$$. You can listen to this as a stand alone but you're missing out if you don't listen to Mastered, Book 1 and Dominated, Book 2.

Where does Kept rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Love Maya Banks stories, but Jeremy York's voice made it difficult to follow. I had to get my Kindle to follow the story. Needed a much better reader, there was no narration, just some bloke reading.Who was your favorite character and why?
Silas was my favourite character, he had more depth to him than Haley who was just a poor lost chick in New York; she would have been swallowed whole by the city.Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Narration was flat and slow; sorry, just didn't move me.Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Silas told his past to Haley was the most dramatic part but was slowed down and choppy because of the narration.Great story mediocre voice
