Publisher's summary

Shawn: Life is good. In just a couple short weeks, I’ll be starting a new job; I’ll be business partners with Holden in our own consulting firm. I’ll be working alongside my best friend instead of the incompetent blowhards I have to put up with now. That means I’ll escape the weekly meetings about my “attitude problem", which is only caused by the aforementioned blowhards. It also means I’ll get to see more of Holden and his fiance/little Ollie. I can’t get enough of my self-appointed nephew. I love hanging out with both of them; to have adult conversations with Holden and watch Ollie play. But as happy as I am that my friends have found love, I can’t help but be jealous.

I’m not looking for a little of my own, though; I’m interested in a different type of boy. I’m a Dom at heart and looking for a young man whom I can guide, spoil, and love...and tie down, spank, and f--k. I’m 46 and growing impatient. I’m ready to settle down; I want a relationship, and I want forever. I know I can make my boy happy. I’ll fight for him, shield him, and bring him pleasure beyond his wildest dreams. I just have to find him first.

Franklin: Life is hard. I’m being evicted by my only family member because he thinks I’m unreliable after I lost yet another job. I try my best, but I struggle with pressure and responsibilities; things usually dissolve into one disaster after another around me. I need guidance and direction, but my Master just cast me aside after he’d used me up and grown tired of me. No one ever keeps me. I crave to belong to one man and spend my life pleasing him; to learn everything he needs and be the one to give it to him. I want to be someone’s everything. I want to be his forever. I’ll hold on to my dream, but I won’t hold my breath.

Note: This M/M insta-love audiobook is packed full of BDSM elements, yet sweet and tingly. It has smoking-hot scenes, no cheating or cliff-hangers, and a very happy HEA. It also revisits Holden and Ollie from Beautiful Dreamer.

so much fun!

This story is another great example of why I love Jayda Marx. There's not tons of angst or unnecessary drama. It's a sweet story about 2 lonely but awesome people who meet exactly where and when they need each other the most. Highly recommend!

I love each book I've read so far by this author but this is my new favorite. Insta-love, excellent character development, and hot sex! Narrator was a perfect choice for this story. Highly recommend!

Awesome listen

This is book 2 of 3 in the series. Loved the first one and this one doesn’t disappoint. Character crossovers were nice. Can’t wait to start book 3. Big fan

Im glad they came out in Audible. The stories are fun and the narrator gave a good performance. I can’t recommend Jayda Marx enough.

I feel cheated

I had to pay full price (or a credit) for a half-length story. (It’s less than 4 hours). Then to add insult to injury, the writing is horrible! It is embarrassingly bad at times. The fancy suit wearing professional businessman character has rants that sound like an immature 15-year-old telling off a classmate and posturing to seem tough. There is so much bad grammar. Ugh. I wish self-published wouldn’t-even-pass-a-college-writing-class “novels” came with a disclaimer, a buyer beware warning. Alas, they don’t.

I liked Ollie and Holden from the first book. I liked Shawn too and wanted to listen to his story, but this was awful. The narration was mediocre at best, which made the bad writing even worse. Don’t know how to pronounce “dachshund”? Never seen it written before? Google it! Your job is literally to say words. Please, take the time to figure out how to pronounce the common ones!

As much as I genuinely liked these characters, I did not enjoy this listen.

Don’t waste your time or money. Skip this one. Pick a book with your eyes closed. You’ll probably get something better than this.

I hope I can remember to avoid buying the third in the series (also full-priced, even shorter than this one, and same so-so narrator).

Jayda Marx, get an editor, find some beta readers to give you honest feedback (and listen to it!), or take some writing classes and hone your craft. You’ve got good ideas, but this product is not ready for the world.
