About this listen

Lindsay Willows craves a simple life. One where she can make a difference without drawing too much attention to herself. As the daughter of both a vampire and a fay, the cards were already stacked against her. Finding out she's the supposed mate of a dark fay prince doesn't help matters - especially when there are those who will stop at nothing to prevent her from mating with a prince she's never even met.

When Exavier Kedmen, the incredibly sexy front man for a world-famous band, shows up wanting her to go back to a field she left three years ago, she can't explain the strong feelings that surface for a man she barely knows. Lindsay finds herself confronting demons from her past, coming to terms with the ones in the present and finally looking forward to a future with the man she was created for. And she discovers evil doesn't care who it hurts to obtain its goals but even the evilest of things fear something, or in the case of Exavier, someone.

WARNING: This book contains hot, explicit sex and violence explained with contemporary, graphic language.

Mediocre read

I've read/ listened to much better and unfortunately much worse. Story was decent, pace was good, narration could have been better. Narrator sounded as if she was trying be sexy and had just left a class on proper diction. I found her just plain annoying.

Good but not for everyone.

As much as I liked this book, it also irritated me. This book is fun, brassy and full of sexual tension. There are tons of one liners in this book, so much to the point it was almost over the top. The author tried to make the heroine come off as worldly, but yet be so clueless to obvious detail that it had me rolling my eyes in disbelief. I didn't like how the story jumped from one place to the next without explanation, that it seemed like the audio skipped. Also some of the direction of the plot was not enjoyable for me, such as the way there lives turned out from lies and from the jealousy during parts. The story does end up coming full circle for a happy ever after, which made me happy. I hated that it never explained why Xavier's mother keep things from him. Altogether this was a fast past romance with lots of action. I would probably read more books by this author. Narrator was good.

fun, fast past, and hot!

Where does Loup Garou rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's ranks high on the fun action ones!

Which scene was your favorite?

Oh there is to many scenes. I would be given away all the good parts of the books lol!

Any additional comments?

I liked it being silly at times and yet balanced with the sadness of the past. The interaction with the different characters was fun to hear and I couldn't help but shake my head at their antics. I love the world miss Roth made and hope that she plans to make more on this series. I love it

Just what a paranormal romance junkie likes!

Would you consider the audio edition of Loup Garou to be better than the print version?

I enjoyed the printed, but loved the audio version. I bought the ebook first and couldn't wait to hear the audio and I was not disappointed. It was even better than I thought it would be. All the characters voices were so believable and sincere.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Loup Garou?

There were so many emotional and life changing events for the two main characters. It's hard to choose. The scene where Lindsay, Xavier and their friends are fighting demons and Lindsay explains to Xavier how she had been pregnant and tortured by demons and lost her baby and her ability to have any future children. It is a heartbreaking scene.

Which character – as performed by Rachel Vivette – was your favorite?

Lindsay, was my favorite character she displayed so many emotions in this book that I was completely engrossed in the story. Lindsay is a half vampire/half fae and the unwitting mate to the Prince. Lindsay is being hunted by demons trying to find the Prince. All the demons think she knows who he is and where to find him. Rachel Vivette performance was very good. Some of the voices were similar but very believable. I would definitely listen to her other audiobook narrations.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My reaction to this book surprised me. The two main characters Lindsay & Xavier were romantic, sexy and very funny, but also very serious about their relationship to each other and their friends and family. The friends a collection of werewolves, cat shifters and a demon hunter were funny, caring, protective and loyal. I laughed at some parts and almost cried at others.

Any additional comments?

The interactions between Lindsay's & Xavier's friends, family and supernaturals was great and made the story very interesting. I am a avid reader and audiobook listener and I pictured in my head what a character would sound like and this interpretation is dead on. Also, hats off to author Mandy Roth the dialogue was snappy and very up to date.

It was okay.

First book I've read from this author. The story overall was interesting, but I had a few issues with the couple. It was annoying that Lindsay couldn't put two and two together until later in the book about who Xavier was to her. It was annoying that she didn't let Xavier get a word in to explain anything and then yells at him for lying to her. And the situation with Ian was just weird. I like the narrator though.

Childhood crushes and adult loves.

Would you listen to Loup Garou again? Why?

Would and will. I have read the story, and now listened to it. I love this story of strong, interesting and funny characters, loyalty and plot twists that just keep coming.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lindsay, but all the girls just say it like it is. She has been through so much but still does her thing with a tough outside and mushy inside.

Have you listened to any of Rachel Vivette’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There were so many. In this book the author could have ended it sooner without giving us the full story and it would have still been great. But her characters had to tell their full story. Two especially, when we learned why she is so involved with the center, and when she Eion saw each other and had their scene. Very emotional.

Any additional comments?

Mandy Roth is an exceptional author and anything she writes is a keeper. This book has everything and anything a read could want. There is plenty of steam, plenty of action, sass and characters you cheer for and won't forget. Hopefully some of them will get their own stories.

An Unexpected Delight

What did you love best about Loup Garou?

I purchased this book because I really enjoy this author. Mandy M Roth is an absolute delight to spend an afternoon with. Actually, I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. The story was delightful with lots of surprises. The characters were well developed and likable. It was steamy and sexy and super fun. I don't care for the cover however and am really glad I did not judge this book by it because I loved this book.
