Publisher's summary

Total surrender doesn't come easy to a natural-born alpha. Shape-shifting special operative Brad Durant has been held against his will by the enemy for nearly a year. He's given up hope and is fast giving up his will to survive - that is, until a hot-tempered, redheaded succubus is placed in the cell next to his. She calls to his wolf on a primitive level and he won't let anyone or anything harm her. Giving his body to the little minx is easy, but guarding his heart is much harder.

My first Mandy M Roth book!

This is my first Mandy M Roth book, and it did not disappoint. While not my normal genre, sometimes a change is good. This paranormal romance introduced me to Brad Durant, a natural born wolf shifter who was kidnapped while hiking with his friend Vic. He was taken to experiment upon and breed. Fast forward almost a year, and we meet Alice, a succubus and her friend Mae. Both are taken from a party for the same reason. Alice proves to be a fiesty opponent, and never gives in to her captors. Her personality is infectious, loving her ability to keep the guards at bay and herself as safe as she can. Brad being the alpha male that he is, Alice is immediately drawn to him when they meet.

There is a cast of supporting characters, all who play an important role in the meeting and escape of Alice and Brad. I am not going to spoil the twists and turns of the plot, but know that they all have integral parts in the story. I especially loved Gus and Wild Bill.

The narration of this book by D.C. Cole is spot on. I only had heard him perform romance novels previously, and though this is a romance, there is a lot of action in it as well. He rises to the challenge of the numerous voices and scenes, and kept me listening!

Excellent Listen!

This is one enjoyable shifter romance. This book is part of a series and a standalone listen, plus it's a spinoff of other books. I had no problem following the story and this is my first by this author. I thought the characters were very interesting. Brad is a wolf shifter and Alice is a succubus. Both were kidnapped and held for breeding purposes. Yes the premise of this book is not realistic, but its still very enjoyable. The imagery was incredible. Anger, lust, obsession, revenge are just a few of the emotions that go on in this book. Besides some despicable characters, there are some very intriguing ones like the Pirate. DC Cole did an outstanding performance with this book. I loved how he was able to give each character their own distinguishable voice.

Wolf's surrender

What did you like best about this story?

Wolf's Surrender is book 1 in Mandy Roth's PSI-OPS spin off, Shadow Agents. Brad Durant had a hard times growing up as an orphaned wolf shifter hiding his true nature from the world. The only bright spot in his life is his close friend and fellow orphan shifter Vincent. They have grown up together, served their country together and are now pursuing higher education together

Howling good story

This is book 1 in the spin off series and is a stand alone book with a wonderful HEA. I recommend this book to all shifter lovers. D.C. does a wonderful job of making the book come to life and taking you on an emotional roller coaster. Looking forward to the next book in the series. Happy listening.

Great Narration!

The narration in this book was the best thing about it. D. C. Cole is amazing at doing so many different voices, it is difficult to believe you are listening to just one narrator. As far as the story, it was just okay for me. I haven’t read or listened to the PSI/Ops series books so maybe I needed some background to really get into the story, I don’t know. There were some interesting moments however I just found most of the story to be just okay. This book was given to me for free and I provided this unbiased review.

narrator is great but for one thing

he does great accents and emotions but apparently does not know how to pronounce the word "didn't". he does other conjunctions fine but this word he pronounces dinit every time. it is extremely disturbing and disrupts the flow of the narration as I have to stop every time and in my head correct him.
