About this listen

After 20 years incarcerated in a vampire prison, Luther is finally free. But before he can close this chapter of his life once and for all, a kidnapping thrusts him back into the world of Scanguards and into a confrontation with the vampires whose mates he very nearly killed two decades earlier.

Actress Kimberly "Katie" Fairfax has turned her back on Hollywood and now teaches drama at a college in San Francisco. When Scanguards owner Samson's daughter disappears during a performance, Katie blames herself for inadvertently putting Isabelle in the path of danger. Realizing that Luther may be the only one who can rescue Samson's daughter, she forges a tenuous alliance with the inscrutable stranger. As passion ignites between them, they not only have to fight against the unknown foe, but also against the darkness within themselves that could destroy them before they can rescue Isabelle.

Another great read

I've love the Scanguards series from the beginning.
I was so glad to learn Luther wasn't who we thought he was.
Great story and Audible.

TF DELIVERS YET ANOTHER FAST-FACED VAMP FEST

Vampire Luther deserved his 20 year sentence for trying to kill Samson's pregnant wife Delilah but he had his misguided reasons for seeking revenge on Samson and Aumury (book 2). But what he didn't deserve was the cruelty inflicted on him while in the Vamp Prison, cruelty that left him a scarred and haunted shell of the man he once was. Haunted by memories of his happy past that so quickly got snatched away from him leaving heartache and a bitter man in its wake.

Over half of the Scanguards, their partners and their now grown offspring, were at the University of San Fransisco where the Drama Department were putting on the Shakespearian Play A Midsummer Night's Dream that Isabelle, Samson and Delilha's 20 year Hybrid daughter was performing in. Security was tight, nothing was left to chance, but it still ends up being a nightmare of epic proportions when their beloved daughter is kidnapped beneath their noses. Beautiful Katie is the Drama Teacher, an ex Movie Star and a Witch with no powers and she feels responsible but it'll turn out she is much more heavily involved than anybody realises. And, as fate steps in, Luther was outside when all Hell broke loose and he became the No.1 suspect.

Later Luther and Katie meet and there's instant attraction and sizzling chemistry but, physically and mentally scarred Luther, tries to resist the pull but Katie could see his vulnerability and his soft side so she wanted this dominant, hardass Alpha Vampire and, after showing some irresistible feminine charms, hallelujah...... she unleashes a sex starved passionate thoughtful lover. They work together to catch the kidnapper always knowing that their romance had an expiry date because Luther had no intentions of sticking around.... being hated by everyone except Katie.

As Luther gets a second chance at happiness there's lots of drama, action, suspense and a twist as he, Katie and the Scanguards have to unite to piece together clues, track down and outwit a very clever kidnapper before Isabelle's time runs out. And, in doing so, Luther finally atones for his sins, receives forgiveness, finds redemption and discovers love when he thought he didn't deserve it, wasn't looking for it, didn't want it, was walking away from it and yet, when it's in mortal danger, he suddenly realises he was going to fight for it, cling onto it and never let it go.

There's a host of loveable characters from previous books and their Hybrid teenage and adult children and Tina Folsom has expertly moved the series ahead 20 years to make way for the offspring of our favourite couples from all the previous books to get involved in the stories and I can't wait to see what she does with it next.

Worth a credit? Dual POV, great narration by Eric Dove, plenty of passion and sex and an exciting and enjoyable storyline with a cast of old and new loveable characters..... so, if you're a PNR lover, what more can you ask for from a credit.

Amazing, but sad too!

The Scanguards Vampires series has everything you could want in a paranormal romance novel. It has hot vampires, sassy women, witches, hybrids, true love, danger, intrigue, and a few unexpected thrills. I loved this series and hope you do too.

Skip forward 19 years, add an ex-con and you get one cool story.

When Luther was first introduced, he quickly became a character that I despised. Which, of course, means the author did an amazing job writing the story. However, fastforward 19 years and change his circumstances and, somehow, the author has taken that same character and change into a character that I could learn to love. After reading Katie and Luther's story, I understand why Luther lost his mind. Though, I still don't agree with or condone those actions, they are a bit more understandable... a tiny bit. He was a heartbroken man who had lost everything and wanted someone else to feel the pain he was suffering through. Katie is also a character that has experienced some sad and tramatizing events. She's been kidnapped twice in her life... possibly three times... and she still manages to smile. Though, some of those smiles are the result of years of acting experience. The tow of them together find solace within the others arms and they each deserve to find some kind of HEA. I really enjoyed my time with the Scanguards family and look forward to many more hours with them. Next up is Blake.

Sexy Vampire Romance.

Another hit from Tina Folsom. I have enjoyed all the books in this series and will gladly continue to read them as long as she keeps writing. It's weird how all the Scanguard's have grown children, it almost makes me feel old. I am glad to see that Luther gets his happy ending, although he did bad things it was because he had so much heartache and didn't know where to put the blame. I do recommend reading this series in order because there is so much tied in from all the other books. Narrator does a good job.

ANOTHER HOT SCANGUARD VICTORY

As with most of Scanguard Vampire readers, I have been in love with the series since Samson meet Delilah. So when I heard that Ms. Folsom had revisited the Scanguard world and now Luther was getting his own book, I was gitty with anticipation. No seriously, I emailed her several times asking for release dates for both the kindle edition and the audible edition. Let me say it was worth the wait, Luther’s Return didn’t disappoint in any shape, form or fashion.

Twenty years has passed since we last heard from our Scanguard friends, and every couple appears to have offspring. Some significant changes have taken place. I will not reveal too many details but a couple of people that were human or now vampires and more mature. Katie (formerly Kimberly from Yvette’s Haven) is a drama teacher at the local college and is presenting a play that is staring Samson’s oldest child, Isabella. Everything goes well until Isabella misses her cue. The Scanguard family jumps into gear to desperately find Isabella and return her safely to her worried parents. Of course, Katie isn’t the type of female to go home and lick her wounds, nope. Like the many Scanguard heroine before her, she sets out to solve the mystery of Isabella disappearance and bring her home safely but she whom will she turn to for help. I mean she is only one gorgeous, curvy witch without powers.

Luther has just been released from the vampire prison after serving twenty years for the wrong he committed against Samson, Amaury and their mates. During that time, he has had time to reflect on his life and decides to make amends for his wrong doings. He just wishes it wasn’t the same night that Isabella disappeared. Now Luther is trying to prove his innocence and resist the alluring temptation of one gorgeous, curvy witch. Together Luther and Katie, set out on a fast paced, action adventure (as only Tina can deliver) that is as interesting as it is scorching and I do mean scorching. I had to look at my Fitbit to check my heart rate a couple of time.

IMO, buy the book. What’s not to like? Once again we have been given another fantastic Scanguard book with a hero who doesn’t believe he can love again or should be love again. A heroine that is just stubborn enough to penetrate the hero’s heart but still vulnerable to have her heart rescued as well. Plus did I mention the scorching romance scenes. Hot Damn!!!

*WITH THIS BOOK, I CAN SEE THE GROUND WORK FOR SCANGUARD 2.0, THE NEXT GENERATION. (CLIPPING MY HANDS EXCITINGLY)

Scanguard vampries, 20 years later

This book transports the listener twenty years into the future. Luther, the villain from book 2, gets out of vampire prison for his attempted murder of Amaury's mate and child. We got to see the author attempt to redeem Luther.

I had a hard time buying Katie and Luther as a couple, but I did like Luther's side of the story. I am glad he is now on the right side. This series is just up and down for me. This was one of the just okay listens.
