About this listen

The number one New York Times best-selling author of The Sinner brings another hot adventure of true love and ultimate sacrifice in the Black Dagger Brotherhood world.

The location of the glymera’s notorious prison camp was lost after the raids. When a freak accident provides Nyx clues to where her sister may still be doing time, she becomes determined to find the secret subterranean labyrinth. Embarking on a journey under the earth, she learns a terrible truth - and meets a male who changes everything, forever.

The Jackal has been in the camp for so long he cannot recall anything of the freedom he once knew. Trapped by circumstances out of his control, he helps Nyx because he cannot help himself. After she discovers what happened to her sister, getting her back out becomes a deadly mission for them both.

United by a passion they can’t deny, they work together on an escape plan for Nyx - even though their destiny is to be forever apart. And as the Black Dagger Brotherhood is called upon for help, and Rhage discovers he has a half-brother who’s falsely imprisoned, a devious warden plots the deaths of them all...even the Brothers.

loved it

After you're 27 books/novellas in, how much weight does "loved it" even still carry.

Jim and JR Ward are perfection. Again.

I didn't get as hooked as quickly as I did the Legacy series, but the prison camp series are clearly a must read for any BDB fan. And let's face it. We're 27 books in at this point. If we've stayed for this long, we're not leaving.

JR Books are truly amazing. I hope she never stops writing and Jim Frangione never stops narrating for her.

Wow was not expecting so good!

of course I have read every single Black Dagger brotherhood and listened to Jim as he expertly performs each book, but this book was so good! Crying at the end, J R Ward is amazing. The world she created is my second home

What can I say but excellent as always. The best storytelling and action in a book.

Loved!

I gobbled this book up! I love how through all the Black Daggar series the characters stay consistent and this was no exception. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

Thanks JR Ward!

Lots of surprises!

I didn't want the book to end. I completely enjoyed this book about Jack and Nyx. It has lots of action and adventure with some unexpected twists which you probably already know involves Rhage. There are some scenes that were a little gory but overall this is a great book.

When Nyx and her sister accidentally hit a pre-trans male they had no idea he could lead them to their sister Janelle who has already served 50 years in a hidden prison. Nyx, who believes Janelle is completely innocent of all charges, is determined to break her sister out of prison. In the prison camp Nyx accidentally meets The Jackal who has already served 10 decades of a life term for a crime he did not commit. The attraction is not immediate but slow burning. The Jackal agrees to help Nyx and so starts the action and romance.

I will never get enough of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. I just want J.R. to know how much I appreciate your loyalty to the readers. You are a reliable author who has consistently released excellent books every year since Dark Lover. Whether it's the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Black Dagger Legacy, Black Dagger World or even Fallen Angels I don't ever want you to stop writing. Thank you and I will keep on reading as long as you keep on writing.

JR Ward never disappoints

One of the things that I didn’t like when first starting The Black Dagger series was how it basically has two storylines. This is what I love love love about these books. It ties things together. If you have read the previous books, I think you’ll enjoy this one.

Excellent

Loved the spin off…Nyx was my kind of women, strong, determined , good hearted and knowing when she was wrong. It was actually very funny and heartbreaking. The narrator was excellent as always.this story isn’t necessary to read as part of the BDB series but it’s an excellently told story I would recommend to anyone that loves the BDB…you also get a little of Darius which was great to listen to.
