About this listen

The Talon Pack continues with an outcast witch and a wolf who can see past the darkness.

As heir to the Talon Pack, Ryder Brentwood carries the responsibility of not only protecting his pack, but ensuring its future. Only no one knows that as he does this, he must also shield his people from their past. When a witch with no ties bursts into his life, he must decide if he can overcome the depravity of his secrets and trust the one person who could break the fragile hold on his control.

Grieving over the loss of her twin and on the run from the unknown, Leah Helm knows she is far more alone than she thought possible. Her coven shunned her before she was born, and the wolves she sought protection with are in a war of their own. When a wolf with a whisper of secrets is forced to work with her in order to protect their people, she finds she might not be so alone after all.

The world knows more than they ever have before about those shrouded in darkness, while Ryder and Leah are thrust into the center of a conflict they never should have been part of to begin with. On their journey, they must not only fight those against them, but the burning temptation that is flaring between them. Fate might have paved their path, but that doesn't mean they have to follow.

Intriguing Series

Carrie Ann Ryan has done an excellent job with this series. Each book has incorporated twists and turns in the plot that were unexpected and just draw the reader more fully into the story. Leah and Ryder are the perfect complement to each other and it's enjoyable seeing how they dance around each other.

The series continues in great form

Witches, covens, bad guys and romance. What more could you ask. I love shifter stories and this one did not disappoint. Carrie Ann Ryan spins a great yarn and Gregory Salinas does a great job with the narration. Totally worth a credit.

Love this pack!

While I am not a huge fan of witch stories. This one was so interesting that I couldn’t help but become invested. I really felt sorry for Leah. But I would love to have her power. Ryder as well has this crazy secret. How he functions day to day is incredible. That that Brentwood family endured I just can’t comprehend. I ended up loving this as well as coming to love the series. I am looking forward to the next one
I did listen to this on audio. Gregory Salinas does a wonderful job with these pack members. I love his voice when their wolf comes to the surface.

could things get any worse

I'm really starting to hate the humans! Leah's dad was beyond soulless and evil. I cringed every time I heard his name mentioned. Ryder and Leah had so much baggage to wade through, that I'm surprised they were suicidal. So many twists and near misses kept me on the edge of my seat listening. More please. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this story and am giving an honest review of. The narrator did a great job.

[Witch + Wolf] entertaining

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes
What did I like about the story? great pace, good build up to the relationship, plenty of emotion, drama and intrigue and the characters have good depth.
Was there anything that didn't work for me? nope - all good.

Without a coven at her back, Leah accepts sanctuary from the Talon pack after the death of her brother. Ryder feels a 'mate' connection to the grieving witch, but he has no time for mates. He has too many responsibilities and there are too many unknowns going on for him to get involved ... right?

Can be listened to on its own, but as it's part of a series is better enjoyed if familiar with the world around it.

Narrator comment: Gregory Salinas continues to do an excellent job narrating this series. He know's the characters and their voices and personalities come through consistently throughout each book. I have no problem distinguishing characters, I felt the emotion and chemistry between the characters and he bought the book to life.

A great series

I’ve read several books by this author but this is the first audiobook I have listened to. I really enjoy her characters and how all of the packs and other supernaturals come together. I think the narrator did a excellent job and I look forward to listening to more books in the series.

Yummy Shifter story

What did you love best about Mated in Mist?

Finally finding out about hte secret Ryder was hiding from everyone and what it represented. Then to find out that Leah was the secret to getting it resolved.

What did you like best about this story?

That Both were captured and quickly returned home

Which scene was your favorite?

The ending when Shane turned up at the sentries. I can see the next story is going to be great. another Trinity bond like the redwoods have. Questions is what did they do to Shane to make him a partial wolf and how is that going to affect the situtation.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Compared to the rest of the stories I've heard from Carrie Ryan I didn't have any extreme reactions.

Any additional comments?

It was a sound story but I was a little bored at the same time.
