About this listen

In all the years I loved Joshua Luca, he never knew it. My infatuation with him led to some stupid decisions, so I swore off my teenage crush and forgot about him.

But our mums are still best friends and when I’m forced back to London, without me knowing, they arrange for me to stay with him.

Joshua hasn’t lost his swagger, his charm or those oh-so-perfect lips that I’ve imagined kissing so many times. He takes me under his wing, helps me flat-hunt and even coaches me through some dates.

Until his coaching starts to feel a lot like actual dating and my crush is back with a vengeance.

I know that loving Joshua leads to disaster but I can’t help but wonder whether the way he looks at me has changed and whether when we kiss, it feels as real to him as it does to me.

This story was good.

I found this story to be without drama. I was ready for no drama. There was just enough sex and intimacy, humor, and learning experiences for both the main characters. I found the story low key, and enjoyable. I recommend this book in the audible form, however. If I had to read it, I think I would have struggled. Shane and Saskia made it a perfect listen.

Charming story - very slow burn

I love these contemporary British characters and Louise Bay has good story lines…. A bit more steam would take me to full 5 stars.
This was a very enjoyable romance!

Awesome

The dry British wit is great. The story is well put together with angst, heat and a good HEA. I also like the narrators.

Love, love, love this book!

I am a huge fan of Louise Bay and this series of books has been one of my very favorites. (Mr. Mayfair, Mr. Knightsbridge, Mr. Smithfield, and Mr. Park Lane) This group of friends has been so much fun to follow and to watch each stubborn man fall hopelessly in love with who they think is someone totally off limits. In Mr. Park Lane, Joshua has known Hartford most of his life but never thought of her in a romantic way. All that changes when she crashes back into his life and really forces him to rethink and reevaluate the direction of his life in more ways than one. I love that Louise touches on big pharma and the problems there, along with addressing the complicated concerns of parents with children who struggle with ADHD. This story felt very contemporary and in touch with reality yet still being the escape that I prefer from a romance novel complete with a perfect HEA. Low angst, high heat, sweet romance and all the characters I have fallen in love with from the previous books made for the perfect conclusion to this series. And of course it just wouldn’t be right without Shane East and Saskia Maarleveld narrating and dropping me right in the middle of London. Chef’s kiss perfection.

Fantastic, as usual

The Mister series is fantastic!! Shane East and Saskia Maarleveld are amazing together. The story of Beck and Stella is still my favorite but Joshua and Hartford’s story was perfect. Can’t wait to hear Tristan’s, just waiting for him to het locked down!!

Cake and bubble baths...Perfect!

Hartford has been crushing on Joshua since she was a kid. He was friends with her older brother, and their mothers are best friends. Working as a doctor in war-torn countries has kept her busy for several years. When she’s hired for a job in London, Joshua offers to let Hartford stay with him until she finds somewhere to stay.

Joshua is a busy man and doesn’t have time to babysit the little sister of a friend. But when he sets eyes on Hartford, she’s not the gangly little kid he used to know. She’s beautiful. Hartford sees Joshua, and as impossible as it seemed, he was even more handsome. She’s pushed her schoolgirl crush way down and locked away, but it’s trying to make it back to the surface.

Having a bad breakup in his past, Joshua has no desire to get into a serious relationship. His casual dalliances are enough for him. Even though his friends are quickly pairing up, Joshua doesn’t see that in his future. Until he starts seeing Hartford in a different light.

Even though Joshua is a billionaire, he’s so down-to-earth, kind, and quite silly. They hang out after work, getting to know each other again after not seeing each other for years. Then there’s a kiss, and another one, and other stuff.

I loved this beautiful story. I fell in love with Joshua pretty early on. A man who loves baths as much as me will ALWAYS be a keeper! I loved Hartford’s spirit.

Shane East and Saskia Maarleveld are amazing with their narration

Mr. Park Lane ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a great story of two people who have not seen each other since they were teenagers. A young woman who is now a pediatrician comes back home and reconnects with her first crush who was best friend’s with her brother. Her crush is now a tall handsome man with his own business who is suave and know how to treat a woman. They are complete opposites but they both have a lot to teach each other including how to be friends how to be honest valuable trust and fall in love.

Louise Bay is the best at storytelling and how to create fireworks 💥.

Love Mr Park Lane

I loved reading this book. All the right amount of romance intrigue friendship and even a good caring boss thrown on top! Loved hearing about the cakes and all the « English » terminology… and I love the way Joshua and Hartford treat each other! With respect and directness. The are both beautiful characters and believable. And I love Joshua’s way of relaxing! I will be trying Lavender and Frankincence oils in my bath!
