About this listen

Selling my virginity wasn't how I saw my first week of college going.

But after my parents cut me off, an offer from a gorgeous rich stranger doesn't sound so bad. It's only twenty-four hours and I'll never have to see him again. Wrong.

Much to my horror, the stranger is Oliver Godfrey, the captain of my fencing team. As if that isn't bad enough, his parents own half the city. There is no escape from him or the way he makes me feel. He's everything I don't want. And everything I need.

A playboy like him shouldn't look at me twice, so why is he ruining my life? But what Oliver wants, Oliver gets, and he wants me. He's arrogant, possessive, and infuriatingly obsessed with me. This can't work.

His parents want him to marry an heiress so I can't keep him. All I can have is stolen moments hidden in the dark. He's going to break my heart, and I'm going to let him.

loved it

oh, this book was fun fun. I laughed so hard reading/listening to it. the characters are amazing. Isaac and Oliver are PERFECT for each other. their chemistry is amazing, the banter, the chasing. the story flows beautifully, and even though this story has a sad layer, Oliver is there the whole time to catch Isaac when he's spiraling and he shows us that even the deepest wounds can be healed with love and care.
I loved how Oliver loves Isaac, our baby bird really deserves it. he deserves to be cherished and Oliver does just that, the whole book.
the spice is spicing, top tier. don't let yourself get fooled by the beginning, it was love at first sight and that will be explored and showed throughout the whole book.
I can't wait to read Colin's and Owen's book.
if you are looking for a fun read, listen to this book because the narrators did a stellar job.
10/10, highly recommend

I have never stopped listening to a book Midway through

the characters are so ridiculous that it's just not worth listening to. when there's no real redemption or turning points to the characters there's no point listening. the performances were fine but when the material is so bad it's just not worth listening to. an absolute waste of a credit

I Wanted To Love It

I preordered this book months and months ago and I've been so excited to finally get it. I've loved every single book Andi Jaxon has put on audio so I had high hopes for this one. What a let down. **SPOILERS**

I found Oliver to be completely insufferable from start to finish. I get that he was supposed to be all hot and possessive but he just came across as a complete asshole. I kept waiting for him to get better and he never did. His, "you can't date anyone but me" attitude towards Isaac was likely meant to be sexy but it was so annoying. Even the "nice" or "soft" side he occasionally showed didn't redeem him. I get Isaac was a virgin at the start but he never, ever grew a backbone. He got a little more confident in sex but my gosh in everything else, he doubted and questioned himself so much it literally came off as whining. Yes, his parents were awful but the story would have been so much better had he taken the experience with Oliver and treatment from his parents and gotten stronger. If he had finally stood up to Oliver maybe it would have been more tolerable. On their first time, during the 24 hr date, Oliver spanked Isaac and had super rough sex. Without a condom! I don't think that is believable or acceptable in any way. With BDSM, usually the physical hits aren't for punishment, they are for pleasure. Not in this story. Oliver literally punished Isaac with a rough throat fu@k and orgasm denial. Because Isaac was on a nondate. Oliver was Isaac's first love. There is always intense feelings and emotions so it's no wonder Issac put up with Oliver's assholery. I just wanted this to end and I came SO close to DNF and returning it, but I wanted it to get better. I did think the narrators did amazing. Kurt and Tim are top of their game voice actors but even they couldn't redeem this story. I may be in the minority here and that's fine. I am super disappointed in this book and I don't know if I will be able to listen to the rest of the series if they are all this bad. Sorry authors, but I still love y'all for bringing my guilty pleasure to audio!
