Publisher's summary

Emory Ker

Who makes out with a random guy at a club while someone else is giving him head? Not me—that's who. I'd never even hooked up with a stranger. Welp, now I had. If you could call what I'd done hooking up. But it was so much more intimate than a hook-up. I'd tasted his lips as someone else made him come. He'd gasped into my mouth.

Now I'm sitting in front of him, and he's asking me to kiss him again.

River Wade

We became famous overnight. One day, I was a twenty-four-year-old drummer slinging pizzas to make ends meet, and the next, I was a member of the most popular alternative band ever.

Despite being world-famous, there was no connection in it. I'd lost touch with reality, with intimacy. I couldn't find a place to be normal. I'd lived my entire life straight-edged while watching obsession destroy my best friend.

Obsession terrified me—that is until I met him.

The first taste left me intoxicated. The rockstar obsessed with the writer—rather funny if you think about it. After a night with him, he vanishes into thin air, and all the money in the world can't help me find him.

I have to track him down and convince him there might be millions of people who would do anything to get a chance to sleep with me, but I only had eyes for him.

Convince this beautiful boy I'm pretty obsessed.

Pretty Obsessed is an out-for-you romance with a dirty-talking, obsessive rockstar who falls for a cinnamon roll writer. This is book one in The Pretty Broken series. All books follow a different couple.

opening chapter

This story grabs you in the first chapter, yanks you in and you can't stop reading. River and Emory are a great couple with the most unique first meet. love the whole series when I read it, surfing through the audio books, the narration is amazing.

Liam DiCosimo never disappoints, but...

I love Tor Thom's voice, but darn, his flat intonation really annoys me. Moreover, all the voices he uses here are so similar that sometimes I don't know which character is speaking and when the dialogue ends and the character's thoughts begin.

So:
Liam DiCosimo - 5/5
Tor Thom - 3/5

Mid storyline, great narration

The title of the story intrigued me and I set off to listen to it. I love audiobooks (and I can multitaks). I must admit that I struggled in the middle, because there was a lot of unnecessary angst, a lot of sex and not enough story. I wasn’t entertained, based on the combination I mentioned. I’m still going to listen to the other books in the series (because I purchased them already) and I hope that there’s more interesting and dramatic story to entertain me. Oh yes, and I love Liam DiCosmo’s voice. 🩷

Love Connection

I enjoyed the narration. Emory and River are so sweet and spicy right from the start. I loved the way their story played out and the organic way their connection grew.

Emory has insecurities that color his perception of their relationship but River is patient and puts in the work to win Emory’s trust.

This remains one of my favorite books of the series.

Sexy Rockstars!

This audiobook is fantastic. I loved this entire series when I read them. And the audiobook doesn’t disappoint. My favorite couple of the series. River is deliciously possessive but with a heart of gold who loves to take care of the people he loves. Emory who is quiet and unassuming. He doesn’t realize the power he has over River and his slightly insecure personality is sweetly endearing.
Both narrators are fantastic and fit the characters to perfection. Can’t wait for more in this series.

The tropes sold me!

Did someone say M/M and Rockstar?! Say no more. I devoured this book. Emory and River almost burned through my earphones. This book started off with a bang that had me not able to look away. The romance was adorable. The plot was believable. The characters were developed. The sex was sexing. J.R. Gray has a new fan. This series will definitely stop me from real life responsibilities. Also, I fell in love with Iris in one chapter. I am without a doubt pretty obsessed with Iris and this series.

3.5 Stars

This story made me happy to read (listen to) and that hasn't happened in a while. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but it all worked. I liked the audiobook, and was drawn in by most of the other characters, and can't wait to read their stories

Narrators kept me listening when I wanted to DNF

This story had potential. Unfortunately it missed the mark. All the character development happened at the end. They couple doesn't communicate at all so there are a lot of dumb misunderstandings. The spicy scenes are unbelievable and I don't mean that in a good way. There was no prep for the poor bottom and almost no fore play.
