About this listen

Cade

I always thought of Silas Rush as my biggest rival on the track and a stuck-up loner off of it. He and his fancy pro career left our crappy hometown in the dust before high school even finished, and then I didn't think of him much at all.

I was too busy trying to keep my little sisters from turning into addicts like our mom, and myself from turning into a rage-junkie like our dad. All while keeping food on the table.

Now he's back, reminding me of all the things I don't have, just like he always did.

Except now we're both adults. And when I… y'know… talk to the guy for once, it looks like my teenage self might have been too distracted to see all the things that Silas didn't have as well.

After catching him at his lowest possible moment, my heart goes out to the guy I used to hate. All my anger turns to guilt, and instead of a rival, I somehow end up with a socially awkward new best friend who's just as screwed up as I am.

Which I can handle. I can admit when I'm wrong. As long as things between us don't get any more complicated or confusing, I can handle it.

Silas

I have a very camera-ready smile. Dad always told me if I wanted to make my pro motocross career stick, I needed to get over all the awkwardness and anxiety that ruined high school for me and learn to act like a real boy for the public.

Never mind that I didn't want to be a pro rider, smile for the camera, or live life with Dad on the road and never know what it's like to have a real friend or—gasp—relationship. Years and years of motocross training, publicity training, and all-the-rest-of-it training, I still don't have a life, and one stupid mistake has left my precious career in the toilet.

The last person I expect to pull me out of this hole is Cade Waters. I'm pretty sure everyone hated me in high school, but Cade was front and center. Which sucked, because, with everyone else, he was sunshine personified. I was always the only person who sparked that anger in him, and I never even knew how I did it.

So, when Cade not only swoops in to help me in my darkest moment but decides to abandon our childhood rivalry and adopt me as his newest bestie/pity project, I'm not sure how to take it.

What I do know is that after a lifetime of having nothing I really wanted, all it takes is one glimpse of Cade's life to get me hooked. He's a mess, sure, just like I am. But all that sunshine… I want to grab onto it with both hands and never let go. No matter how confusing that feeling may be.

Stupid Dirty is a high-heat, high-angst M/M romance about dirt bikes, childhood trauma, and figuring out how to love someone the best way you can. For mature listeners.

Beautiful

This was a really beautiful story. Loved the MCs and loved their journey together. The story was fluid, raw, real, and deep.

Very much enjoyed the narrator for Silas, and I really enjoyed hearing Cade’s narrator in a non-college-hockey setting. I really preferred him here.

There are a LOT of feels in this one, from joyous to harrowing, so it’ll go into my “listen to this once a year because feelings are hard” pile. Please listen to this one, it’s really good.

Beautiful Story, Wonderful Performance!

Erin Russell is new to me and from this story alone I am eager to discover more of her work. "Stupid Dirty" alone is an amazing, passionate, heart-warming story but with the performances of Alexander Cendese and Max Meyer took this to another level so high that it will reverberate in my mind and heart for quite some time.

5 starz - I would listen again

highly recommend

If you are looking for and idiots to lovers kinda story, this is the one. Cade and Silas are the perfect example. They're perfect for each other and omg so, so sweet. They deserve all the happiness in the world, the babies. They story is heartbreaking in a way, and I'm not going to say that love conquers all, because this story is proof that's not true BUT it shows you how love heals and how it can makes you do better and want to be better for the ones you love.
When you reach the end of the book it's gonna sound a bit abrupt, but apparently there's gonna be another book ( maybe is out already, I haven't checked yet ) for these two. I guess it's gonna be book 3 in the series? Just and FYI so you don't rate the book lower just because of the ending. More is coming.
The narrators did an incredible job, I loved listening to this audiobook.

Perfect

This was a 5 star read through and through. Alexander was an absolute perfect fit, as was the the other narrator. The story is real, and raw. The characters are likeable while still having flaws. I think my only gripe would be there's just too many sex scenes for me. Once they're together it just gets to be too often for my personal taste. Book two needs to come out in audible format, STAT.

Top 5

This book has become a Top 5 for me, for sure. I absolutely love Cade and Silas. The first intimate scene between the two of them was just...I don't even know. I don't have words for it. I can feel the deep emotions behind it before they even truly did. I loved every second of this book. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

My poor bébé Silas

I love love and I love sunshine GR and a broken beau. Cade and Silas are perfectly imperfect! Cade being a bossy power bottom was cracking me up! He was so funny!

Sooo Gooood

This is a new author for me, and what a treat! This story was really good! Good build-up, just the right amount of angst and timely resolution. Oh, and the ❤️ was 🔥! I love the MCs, and this is definitely going on my re-listen list.
Alexander Cendese is one of my favorite narrators, but Max Meyers was new to me. AC did Awesome as usual! Max's inflections were a little too whiney for me, but nothing I couldn't get over. Great job gentlemen!

Good story, good narration

I enjoyed the story and the narration. I didn’t really feel like it was high angst but it did have some drama to it.
