About this listen

"Do I please you, my Prince?"

Prince Ernest Ire will do anything to please his controlling father. Even if that means using his god-given magic to sway the minds of everyone he has ever met. But everything changes when he is infected with the deadly poison of a Mer bite, and his magic is stolen.

Killian Metropoli made a deal with the god of the ocean, Karakos, on the fateful night when his mother took a blade to his throat and killed him. Gifted with immortality and the power over sea and storm, Killian was offered a second chance at life, for the sole purpose of ridding the oceans of the evil soulless creatures-the Mer.

Killian is faced with duty or escape; he must choose to go against a powerful god for a bad-mouthed prince, who could give him the one thing he desires most...freedom. Time is of the essence, otherwise, Killian will be forced against his will to kill Ernest if he becomes the very monster his life is dedicated to destroying.

Fate is fickle, the threads knotted, and time is running out. But an evil darkness is rising, and they must become allies to stop it before the world they know becomes a battlefield for benevolent gods.

Contains mature themes.

This is a really interesting 4th book in the series. It is a discontinuation from books 1-3, which together tell the story of Darkmourn, castle dread, Jax, Marius, the elven race, magic, and vampires (and werewolves in a cool way). This is a departure in a different part of the world (would liken to greek isles), though wholly in the same world of gods and the people who obsess over power

The few lower reviews I’ve seen I think were for people who hoped this would directly tie into the narrative plot from the previous three books, so just adding this as an FYI if you’re considering reading it. I haven’t gotten through this 100% yet, but it goes to a more birds eye view of the world from the gaze of the gods and their legacy on humanity and they lands and seas they dwell for thousands of years. You heard of the goddess Nyssa in the other books? Well this goes more into that actual story, and doesn’t just allude to it in the context of the events in and around darkmourn.

Definitely recommend this book if you liked the writing style of the first three, and the level of nuance and relations between the main couple and the others who would see everything burn

great story - everything from little mermaid but different and with fantastic plot

I loved both of the MC and the storyline’s themes. I liked how it had the themes from the original little mermaid story, but also added in its own uniqueness to it. I definitely recommend this book if you’re interested in mermen right now.

A unique Little Mermaid story

The story had a good flow going to it. The performance was great I still prefer a full cast the author know how to describe and give good imagery

Plot had a good flow

Everything was great. The MC grows on you but it was so good!! I love that the author ties the stories together.

I love this!

Took a rather abrupt turn at Albuquerque. This has nothing to do with the previous 3 books and is really just strange.

No idea how this is book 4
