About this listen

After Noel Falcon professed his love to the one girl who truly holds his heart in the palm of her hand, he decides to try his damnedest to keep Lane Vance in his life forever this time. There's no way he'll let her slip through his fingers again without a fight.

The instant they are together Noel begins to plot a way to ask his headstrong ladylove to be his wife, but every attempt to pop the question is foiled by a string of mishaps that prevents him from getting the job done before he goes back on tour with Black Falcon.

Distance is a bigger challenge than Noel expects, and the one-eyed beast of jealous raises its ugly head when Lane takes on a job working on an ad campaign for Embrace the Darkness. With Striker - a man who's made his interest in Lance clear - lurking around her constantly, Noel wants to claim Lane now more than ever.

Good book, Bad narrator!

I love this series but the narrator was bad. He made the character sound so much older than he is and don’t even get me started on his “female voice”. Lol

WHY?! WHY?! WHY?!

What did you love best about Rock the Band?

The story is just as good as the first book. I love hearing more of Noel's side of things, BUT............

Would you be willing to try another one of Allen Steele’s performances?

Why would they choose this narrator?!?! The character is supposed to be a 22 year old Rock God, but he sounds like the What-a-Burger commercial guy. I don't want to hear a grandpa talk about their intimate places. EW! I'm very torn on whether or not I can finish the series since he narrates part of book 2. This really gives me the creeps.

Any additional comments?

Allen Steele shouldn't read for characters younger than 45 years old, at the very least!!!!

Rocked the Romance

I enjoyed this rocker romance on the surface level. It's a short book but the couple makes it special. Noel's tenderness toward Lane is incredibly sweet and unexpected for a rockstar. Thier struggle to find thier HEA caused enough angst to keep me wondering. Despite not being too deep and being a bit underdeveloped, getting the surface of the characters was enough to be entertaining. Glad I listened in audio.

Story of a 22yr old read by an 80yr old!

Where does Rock the Band rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Don't know....couldn't even listen to it

Would you be willing to try another one of Allen Steele’s performances?

NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Any additional comments?

I couldn't get even 5 minutes into it! I could not listen to a man that sounds 80 read the part of a 22 yr old....bad bad bad....please redo as soon as possible so those of us who purchased can actually listen & enjoy rather than cringe & shut off!

Bad narrator

The narrator’s voice is too mature to play a 23 year old guy!!! Other then that the book was great

Narrator!!!!

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was very hard to listen to this book. The narrator was soooooo wrong for this book. Mr. Steele needs to narrate OLD WESTERNS ONLY!!!! His voice was soooo not what I expected Noel's to sound like!!! What the Heck!!!

Pretty good addition to the series :)

3.5-4 stars

This was a pretty good little addition to Lane and Noel's story (from Noel's PoV). It starts right after book #1 ends and deals with them defining their relationship and dealing with the jealousy and other issues facing them with their new relationship. I liked it overall. The beginning seemed a little slow for me but it picked up and I loved the ending. Well worth the read if you've read book #1, Rock the Heart. :)

* note - Since it was from Noel's PoV they used a male narrator. He did a good job but I didn't think his voice suited what I'd picture Noel sounding like. The narrator had a kind of growly voice with a slight accent that made me think the narrator would do better narrating a western/cowboy novel.

The narrator was sadly miscast.

It was weird listening to a narrator who sounded like grampa with a chew in his cheek. The male lead is supposed to be a rocker; In his 20's !
When it came to the sexy parts it was a turn off. He would be much better as a Christmas reader telling the story about his young life in reflection.
