I read this book as an ARC and now got the extreme pleasure of listening to the ALC. The narrators did an amazing performance. Really love the irish accent and all the emotion put into it. Below is my original review that still stands accept I love the narration even more. Definitely one I will go back and listen to again.

Wow! This book is so freaking fantastic. Mafia romance at its finest. I thought the first book of the series was good this was even better. I was literally glued to every word. The Irish Mafia Boss Kieran buys the Italian Princess Isabella so he can have her give him an heir. These two butt heads but then when the walls crumble they bond in amazing ways. This book has suspense, angst, and tons of spice. Definitely a 5 star must read series, I can not wait for the next book.

Kieran and Isabella's story is one I didn't want to stop listening to. We first met Kieran in the first book of this wonderfully written series, Sinful Vows when Ewan planned to find him a wife but fell in love with her himself.

In this book, Kieran takes finding a wife into his own hands when he offers the Italian Don money for the hand of his daughter Isabella. Money Kieran hopes he will use to fund a war between the Italian and Russian factions who rule their parts of Astoria which has been divided into three with Kieran running the Irish.

Kieran may have gone into this marriage intending it to be purely a business arrangement to give him an heir and to give him overall control of Astoria but he had yet to get to know Isabella aka Izzy.

Izzy is much younger than Kieran, but she is strong and has plans and ambitions of her own and becoming a mother before she completes her degree is not one of them. Seeing them come together and learn the art of compromise was fun.

Their chemistry is palpable and very, very hot but will chemistry be enough to break down Kieran's walls around his heart? The storyline features action, betrayal, lies and deceit as well as romance. The book can be listened to as a stand-alone but I would urge you to listen to these books in the correct order to fully understand and enjoy how each of the characters who appear in all the books grow and develop.

The narration of this book is wonderfully performed in Duet by Lexi Evans and Tyler Griffin, they become Kieran and Isabella. I read the eBook when it was first released but the performance of these two talented actors lifted this enjoyable story to an even higher level. Tyler Griffin's Irish brogue was very well done.

I can't wait for Riordan's story to be available in audio!

Audiobook review: Narrated by Lexi Evans and Tyler Griffin 4.5 stars for story / 5 stars for performance This was my first Deborah Garland book, so I obviously did not read the first book in this series but that did not hinder this story at all. I was blown away by this one. As far as arranged marriages go, this one was fantastic. I especially liked the added Romeo and Juliet vibes with the enemy mafia families and all the mystery and intrigue involved. We get some added angst in that our MMC is still heartbroken over his dead fiancé, and while he is attracted to Isabella, the hang up over Nora lends a strong feeling of Kiernan not being able to love his new wife. On the flip side, Isabella is young and has aspirations that keep her from fulfilling her duties in provided an heir. There is so much going on in this story, but it is written in a way that keeps you engaged and not overwhelmed. I was pleasantly surprised by this story and am excited to continue with the series. While this story is amazing on its own, the audio blew me away. The second Tyler Griffin started speaking I was hooked! His Irish accent was nothing short of mesmerizing and the tone was perfect for portraying this alpha protector role. Add in the masterful way he voiced the other male characters in such a unique way, and he has cemented his place as one of my favorite male narrators. Lexi Evans also did an amazing job bringing Isabella's feistiness to life. She played this role so well I felt every emotion Isabella was going through amplified. The duet style just added to the wonderful audio experience and as much as I want to jump right into the next book of the series, I think it's worth it to wait for the audio (or maybe I'll just do both!)

💓Audio Review 💓

Let me tell you, you need to listen to this book through audio. The amount of alphahole Kieran is just makes things tingle. Holy Moly!, this is the first book I’ve done in this series and now I need to go back and do the rest of this series. Mafia has always been on of my favorite tropes to read. Their story line crossing between Irish and Italian was hot. That was definitely not something Ive read before with an older mafia leader doing an arranged marriage right out the gate when the book starts. These narrators showed up and showed OUT!. Lexi and Tyler did a phenomenal job with bringing their characters to life. I will leave you with this:

Kieran and Isabella have a steamy age gap, mafia romance. Isabella is strong and has a spine. Kieran, well I wouldn't call savage, but he is a man with power and is protective. I liked their dynamics together. The narration brought this story to lofe even more, it was eaay to forget the wolrd around me. Very entertaining!

The life of a mafia boss is not all magic.

Kieran is a gruff, but alluring head of a Irish mob boss family that rules a part of New York, After meeting him in the first book, he now has his eye for Isabella, the Italian princess. After meeting her briefly at the tail end of “Sinful Vow,” this book sends poor Izzy’s world into an explosive whirlwind, this book continuing the storyline right away.

Kieran really is the perfect balance of the smooth criminal that’s wit, dress, and skill slays as much as his chiseled muscles. I feel his growth is natural, which I am grateful for. Mr. Griffin did a phenomenal job making this character the grumpy sunshine boss with a stimulating intonation and accent.

I adored Isabella. She was the perfect mix of sweet, spicy, sassy, and reasonably spoiled. I would love to be friends with her and her progressions was also brilliantly paced. Her style, morals, goals, and how she handles her situations drew me in, rooting for her and her Savage King. Lexi Evans performance was peek, delicious attitude, tenderness, wonder, and a joy to listen to.

Together, they were a fantastic narration team and I am so glad this story is duel.

Mrs. Garland is an amazing author. I love her writing style, captivating characters, flow, and elements that all you to sink into that tale fully. The world building and amount of Mafia was just right (I am not into overly violent stories.)

And the spice level? Phew! Prepare to fam yourself…or lots of cold showers.

The ending too… AH! Definitely makes you want book three!

Yall when I say this kept me entertained this was fantastic. IT was also and I I love a good Irish accent the performance was in duet, and it was wonderful. One thing that did start to irk me is Keiran pining over his dead wife.

Kieran is the head if the Irish mafia who believes he can never find love again after his fiancé had passed. Isabella is the young wife he had bargained for in order to get an heir. The narrator for Kieran could use some for more inflection in the narration. Isabella's narrator portrays her really well. The story is very well done and the characters have chemistry.
