About this listen

Book One of Three Aidan Iverson III, old money wealthy and blatant playboy, has never felt the need to be with one woman. Why, when he has the looks, money and a family name to rule the nightlife? And, when it thoroughly aggravates Grandfather?

LILLIAN SNOWE, do-it-yourself overachiever, has a plan to keep her father healthy and living in the home where he raised her. But, how can she, when the hospital bills are piling up, the bank wants their money and she is hundreds of miles away from home?

From the moment they meet, Aidan would have to be blind not to feel an attraction, especially with Lilli's work attire and feisty humor. When illness, death, debt and a mutual friend, bring these two together, feelings are hurt and someone is insulted. It takes determination, sneaky actions and cockiness to secure the deal. But, even with an iron clad marriage agreement and pre-nup in place, there are those who would seek to destroy the spark threatening to engulf our couple in a happily ever after.

So, Save the Date, because you are cordially invited to the seduction of Lilli Snowe.

Cute story, good relationship developments.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, its overall a good story

What other book might you compare Save the Date to and why?

I'm not sure I can think of a comparison

Which scene was your favorite?

When Lilly goes to talk over the situation with her friends and they all but call her stupid. Ooh and when Audeb sees get fir the dyestuff time, that was really cute. I like how he described her.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

First comes contract, then comes marriage, who knows about the baby or his carriage.

Any additional comments?

Overall really liked the book, but the male narrators voice is SOo annoying. It's like he's over articulating and it really took some getting used to

Not much romance in book one

I like the storyline in this book but there's not much in the way of romance in this book in the series. I did get book two and some romance begins a little over half way through the book. The heroine gets on my nerves a little bit. She calls the hero spoiled quite a bit but she spoiled too. Maybe not with monetary things but things always have to be her way.

The narration is good.

This was the best narration style ever!

Would you listen to Save the Date again? Why?

Absolutely! It was a very enjoyable story. It covered all of my wants in a good romance novel/trilogy. It begins with friendship, charming whitty banter, it has drama, laughter and love. The story is full of everything, the couple, the friends, the family. If a story is well written its worth repeating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Save the Date?

When Aiden gives her the ultimatum! I mean at that point in the book she already turned him down and you kind of sit back and think where will this go? So Aiden does this huge favor for her and she gets mad at him and he says "Either you accept what I did as a favor or as a kind gesture or you agree to marry me it's that simple". I mean you see the depths of his love starting to grow and he makes these gestures and she is just all about the business end of the deal and doesn't even give it a thought that he might want to try and make this a life commitment. I hated how Lilly didn't see the grand gestures he was making. I mean he gave her his mothers ring to wear and she says no I can't you should save it for the real thing. I guess from hers perspective she was being honorable but from his perspective he wanted to try to make it real.

Have you listened to any of Craig Jessen and April Grace Lowe ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, both of them are new to me. The style of narration to me is the best I have ever listened to. I always said to my husband, you know it would be nice if the males could do the male voices and the females do the female voices and if they could read it like a play. That is exactly how it sounds. It changes the whole dynamic of the story because it's being performed and it is like you are seeing a play in your mind. I guess it makes it more meaningful and true to life!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes absolutely because I couldn't wait to see how books 2 and 3 were going to progress.

Any additional comments?

It was a little aggravating that he did not immediately think of Lilly as the perfect candidate to be his wife. I mean you saw the moment he was taken with her, he saw immediately that she was in a financial jam but yet get continued to date right in front of her no less. That bothered me.

3.5 Stars

What made the experience of listening to Save the Date the most enjoyable?

The way the story was narrated. By that I mean when a man spoke it was the male narrator. When a female spoke it was the female narrator. No man trying to do a women's voice. I wish more books were narrated like this.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lillian. Her sassy mouth.

What aspect of Craig Jessen and April Grace Lowe ’s performance would you have changed?

Craig Jessen annoyed me with his drawn out pronouncing. I give him 3 stars. Instead of "be" it was "beeee". I wish he would have pronounced things properly.

I loved April Grace Lowe's. I give her 5 stars. She is the reason I finished the book and will continue on with the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not really.

Any additional comments?

It is a been there, done that, type of story but it was worth the Whispersync price. I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price for the book.

A sassy good time

I really liked this story, and the interplay between the two main characters. Unlike a lot of romance books I've read, I felt like they were on equal footing, especially their intelligence and sense of humor.

The two narrators really captured the flirty banter very well - and juggled a LOT of character voices... the sex toy scene with all the women was especially tour de force. And that male voice was smart and sexy... I could listen to him anytime. ;-)

Really Good

I really enjoyed this book! Definitely not the typical arranged marriage storyline. I loved that the majority of the characters knew why Aden and Lily were getting married. I also Absolutely Loved ❤️❤️ Vi and Liam, they had me “LOL” several times. The narrators were great.. as well!!👏🏽👏🏽

Monied Jerk ruthlessly takes advantage of a woman

Monied Jerk ruthlessly takes advantage of a woman to suit his own ends. With no care or thought for her or any offspring, except they are a means to save his life style

Sadly this theme seems to run rampant in some books. Neanderthal, selfish, self centered jerk takes advantage of a woman whos in no real position to fight back.

Spoilers Ahead

This time the jerk has lots of money and power and does not want to loose it. if he does not Marry soon and produce a child as per his grandfathers will he futures looking grim.

He finds a young woman who he knows is at rock bottom struggling to stay afloat, trying to pay pay past medical bills and continue bettering herself.

He draws up a contract that he will pay all her debts if she "marries" him for 4 years has a child and then she must leave him with the child.

She refuses him. Refusing to basically be paid for sex then leaving her child behind.

Unfortunately her father becomes ill again and she is struggling even more to pay the bills

This is Rich lowlifes chance and he pounces again.

Eventually to provide live in care for her gravely ill father she agrees to marry the jerk BUT with no sex. Any baby is to be produced by other means.

Sadly this is where the story goes from bad to worse and becomes even more stereotyped

I wont go into the asinine details but a sensible woman who distrusts and has no feelings for the selfish uncaring money jerk, and the monied self centered jerk we are supposed to believe live happy ever after by the end of this stereotyped diatribe

The narrators are reasonable, pity about the story.

If this is your sort of twisted tale then enjoy
