About this listen

Haven Antonelli and Carmine DeMarco have been through a lot. Haven was taken in by Carmine's father, and with his family's help, she escaped a gruesome fate. However, saving Haven from the dark intentions of a mafia family cost Carmine a steep price: He was forced to swear loyalty to them.

Now, still passionately in love, Carmine and Haven must face the fall-out of Carmine's forced service, as Haven discovers terrifying secrets about the family that enslaved both her and her mother - and why she matters so much in this intricate web of lies.

OMG AWESOME... a must read!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Sempre: Redemption to be better than the print version?

The ever enduring love between the two young lovers

What does Carla Mercer-Meyer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I thought she did a great job, she actually sounded young like young adults, made it believable

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely

Any additional comments?

Loved this series. Won't be disappointed.

There wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. Everything was tied up with no questions unanswered. I found myself involved with the characters. The writing is so good you are able to over look the horrible behaviors of the characters and love them. I will be looking for more from J. M. Darhower. Loved Carla Mercer-Meyer's narration.

Wow.

Loved the story!
Full of twists and turns.
Wish the epilogue would have been longer and would have included more of the characters.

Degrees of separation

It doesn't matter how many times I listen to or read this book, I love it even more. It grabs your heart, causes excitement, anger, and longing. I listen/read this story once or twice a year because of my love for it. I still cry, smile, and laugh every time. The narrator did a fantastic job at her performance. The separation between characters was very distinguished.

I would love to see this on the big screen!

I love everything about this series. As soon as it’s over I want to listen to it all over again. It takes you on a roller coaster of emotions, with characters that never leave you. The narrator brings everyone alive, her accents, and emphasis, of each one making them so unique and special. Haven is my hero.
Make sure you have tissues close by,
ugly cries ahead! Thank you J.M.Darhower!

Redemption

Would you listen to Sempre: Redemption again? Why?

Yes because I'm sure I missed some things the first time. It was also that good to where I'd enjoy it again like it was my first listen.

What other book might you compare Sempre: Redemption to and why?

I think Burying Water by K. A . Tucker. They both have mob ties and they both have that emotion that tugs are your heart a bit.

Which scene was your favorite?

While I had many favorite scenes I really liked the Epilogue.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book made me want to cry several times.

Any additional comments?

I liked the 3rd person telling that followed more than just Haven and Carmine. My feelings for her haven’t changed a bit. She’s still rather timid and unsure of herself and I thought that was OK. I got to feel her grow some and experience life as she should. Carmine disappointed me for a bit. I didn’t like his careless attitude even though he was going through a hard time. I seriously felt for some of the things he had to do and witness.

I was a little up and down on my feelings for Corrado. At times he just seemed so mean. I liked him but kind of at a distance. I also liked how everything wrapped up. I had a lot more emotions throughout listening to this than I expected. Also, the amount of times I felt on edge was pretty high as well.
