About this listen

She's the wife he never wanted...and the weakness he never saw coming.

Ruthless. Meticulous. Arrogant.

Dante Russo thrives on control, both personally and professionally.

The billionaire CEO never planned to marry—until the threat of blackmail forces him into an engagement with a woman he barely knows.

Vivian Lau, jewelry heiress and daughter of his newest enemy.

It doesn’t matter how beautiful or charming she is. He'll do everything in his power to destroy the evidence and their betrothal.

There’s only one problem: Now that he has her...he can't bring himself to let her go.

***

Elegant. Ambitious. Well-mannered.

Vivian Lau is the perfect daughter and her family’s ticket into the highest echelons of high society.

Marrying a blue-blooded Russo means opening doors that would otherwise remain closed to her new-money family.

While the rude, elusive Dante isn't her idea of a dream partner, she agrees to their arranged marriage out of duty.

Craving his touch was never part of the plan.

Neither was the worst thing she could possibly do: fall in love with her future husband.

King of Wrath is a steamy arranged-marriage billionaire romance. It includes explicit content and profanity. Recommended for mature listeners only.

Exceptional story!

Dante Russo is the king of the hill, the most eligible bachelor and the center of attention at any society event. His family is old money and they conduct business with a strong hand. Vivian Lau is an event planner and the daughter of a new-money businessman. Although Vivian is a strong woman, she comes across as showing deference to her father. She practices the more traditional role, but part of her wants to break away from pleasing and living for her parents. A problem arises when Vivian's father blackmails Dante's family regarding photos that were taken of his brother that would embarrass the family. He will do or say nothing as long as he agrees to marry Vivian. So, Dante is being forced into this arranged marriage and feels helpless, something he's never felt before. Her parents tell her that Dante is having dinner with them tonight and Vivian has no idea why, but she was quick to find out that she was soon to be married. To say this arrangement was unique is an understatement and it blew both hot and cold with very little in between. They treated each other coolly, at first, but the insults and snarky comments didn't stop. Dante hung onto his bitterness a little too long, but he was so angry at his brother and Viv's father. When he reminded himself that this marriage wasn't real, he chose to put up a wall and ignore her. I was starting to get upset, thinking he was a lost cause, but then Vivian would stand up for herself and he would understand what a spitfire she was. I really did enjoy the book and the happy ending was well-earned and delightful.
Jacob Morgan and Emily Woo Zeller did a wonderful job with the narration. Their dynamic, well-modulated voices blended well together to bring each of the characters to life with a unique sound and personality.

Which accent is this supposed to be?

I love the story, I do. And the female narrator was great. And I like the male narrator but his accent is all over the place. He will flit in an out of his Italian accent which idk just breaks the trace of the story to hear one word with an accent and the next 3 are not. But don’t let it deter you from an amazing read

Wonderful narration for a beautiful story.

Is this book a little formulaic? Yes. Did that make me enjoy it less? Not at all. I loved Dante and Vivian’s story. These two characters were so different; I loved how they complimented one another. Dante made Vivian stronger, and Vivian softened Dante up a bit. I loved watching them fall in love!

I loved Christian and Stella making an appliance in this book. I think it made me love Christina even more. Vivian’s girl gang was fantastic, and I can’t wait for their books. And Kai, well, he might have been my favorite character in the whole book!

Jacob Morgan is my favorite narrator and can do no wrong. He was great as Dante. But Emily Woo Seller was the star here! I love her voice, and she was just cast perfectly as Vivian.

The way I devoured this!

I have to be honest, I was weary about listening to this, but I was pleasantly surprised. The reviews I’ve seen from fellow readers weren’t that good. But I still wanted to read it because I love Ana’s writing. Once she announced Jacob Morgan was narrating it and it was a duet, I had to wait to read it. I’m so glad I did. Jacob Morgan saying ‘mia cara’ was everything! It’s the first time I’ve listened to Emily Woo Zeller narrate and while I feel like I would’ve liked a softer voice for Vivian, I definitely liked the way she narrated and the passion she brought to it. Definitely worth it. ♥️

4.5 out of 5 stars!

I've held off reading this book and I'm glad I did. Listening to book in duet narration made the story come to life. Dante and Vivian's arranged marriage set in motion through blackmail didn't have hope in ending well, or so I thought. The angst and animosity was so palpable through Jacob Morgan and Emily Woo Zeller's duet narrations. So was the love and admiration that eventually happened. I did find the characters' reunification a bit lackluster, but it was redeemed through the emotion Dante evoked when he actually proposed. I have long been a fan of Jacob. It was amazing to hear his slight Italian accent for Dante. This is the first time I've heard Emily, but her talent shown through in her role as Vivian.

I received an advance copy of the audiobook at my request and voluntarily left this review.

LOVED IT!

this was amazing. Vivian Lau is a society heiress is set to marry Dante Russo, the most eligible bachelor and billionaire. Their slow burn killed me in the beginning, especially with how cold but attentive Dante was given the reasons for the marriage on his part. He never planned to marry, let alone an arranged marriage.

Vivian held her ground and knew her place. She was always a different version of herself to her parents, trying to get their approval on everything.

The chemistry between Vivian and Dante was absolute fire! They had a connection almost immediately, as well as attraction.

I’m also so glad we got to see some characters from Twisted Lies, it was so fun to realize we’d met Dante once before and to get an entirely new perspective of them. I can’t wait for the continuation of this series, it’s already started off incredibly.

the narration was absolutely perfect too, they brought this story to life so perfectly!

"MY WIFE" 🔥

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶🌶.5

♡ Forced/Arranged Marriage
♡ Billionaire Romance
♡ Daughter of My Enemy
♡ Forced Proximity
♡ One Bed
♡ "MY WIFE"

I love a good "I hate that I don't hate you" trope. The bickering and banter between Dante and Vivian built up such an incredible tension that you just couldn't wait to reach its boiling point. 🔥

I truly resonated with Vivian's feeling of a sense of familial obligation that her parents really didn't deserve. I think a lot of us can relate to the struggle between wanting to please our parents and finding our own voice.

Boy, oh boy, does that "my wife" line hit the sweet spot every time. 👌🏻💋

I loved the character development, the side characters, and the SPICE.

I read and listened to the audio in tandem, and the audio is SO goof. Jacob Morgan as Dante was just incredible.

Can't wait for the next one!

What happened to the accent?

I really enjoyed this book, but kept getting distracted by how Dante’s accent disappeared? Jacob Morgan does a really good job narrating but the loss of the accent was disappointing. Enemies to lovers is my favorite troupe especially when it comes to billionaires, and this book did not disappoint!
