About this listen

My brother's best friend is a sex god, and it's time to even the score....

Austin James was always my #1 crush - and off-limits - until a college hook-up showed me he was every bit the playboy his rock-star reputation promised. Now, he's back after a mysterious break from the spotlight, offering an exclusive profile that could make any journalist's career.

And he picks me.

Two weeks to land the scoop of a lifetime? I'm not about to let a little unresolved sexual tension stand between me and my big break. Okay, a lot of sexual tension.

Can I figure out Austin's secrets - before they break my heart? And will this off-limits romance find a way to become something real?

Contains mature themes.

Bromance

I really wanted to enjoy this book. It was good overall but for some reason i couldnt sit through this book for long periods of time like i could binge others. There was love, longing, bromance, frustration, friends and work. Maybe the characters frustrated Me. Who knows.

Could have been so good…

There are a lot of books that I haven’t finished because I lose interest or because they are just poorly written but this is the first book that I’ve listened to the whole thing and ended up hating by the end. I hate it because it could have been so good with just a little more effort. Instead, the author just drops plot points left and right, makes no effort to explain why characters feels certain ways, and doesn’t delve at all into what makes them tick. And worst of all, by the end, I despise the lead female and her brother! They are asshats who treat their supposed best friend and lover like trash. Who needs enemies when you have a best friend and lover like Luke and Mia???

This book had great potential and if the author had just fleshed out the characters more, delved more into their motivations and personalities, and not dropped plot points (like why did he think poorly of himself? How were his parents bad? Why didn’t she ever tell him she overheard what he said back in college? etc, etc), it could have been a really good book.

Light Read

Main characters are likable, no angst, and no real drama. Easy read. Narrators did an okay job.
