About this listen

Earth is all but dead. With meteors exploding in their midst, the shuttle Grace boards takes flight in a last ditch effort to save human lives. With little food, water and eight stowaways the situation is volatile while they race to the new planet, Ulsy. A wormhole and a crash are their undoing.

While fleeing into the strange surroundings on an even stranger planet two of Grace's shuttle pilots are killed by a massive ebony creature with fangs as white as ivory. Rask is a full blooded Castian warrior who thinks his planet has been stormed. When he comes across the little being that cowers from him he is intrigued. After 400 years and virtual immortality Rask thought he had seen everything.

When the being before him declares herself to be a human female he is beyond amazed. Females have been extinct as long as he can remember. But there is no denying her sweet scent. One inhaled breath is all it takes to drop his shield and reveal the muscular tanned male beneath. Rask had thought his armor impenetrable. One touch from a slender hand and he realizes he is powerless against the tiny human he must have.

Great feel good sci-fi

Loved the story. The reader brings the characters to life. The destruction of earth and a solution for some earthlings is a great plot base. I'll be tearing through the rest of the series.

I love this series. It's entertaining and imaginative. The Performer really makes the story come to life.

AWESOME START!

Love the story! The concept is original. Short but packed with action and description. New world with a different spin on alien society.
I only review stories I love and don't want to waste my time or yours with mediocre listens. This is definitely great! I will listen to this story again asap.

Great concept - story fairly ridiculous

I really liked the story theme and was completely engaged with the struggles and situation faced by humans on earth. Unfortunately the character development left a lot to be desired.
We have an alien that is suddenly loved by a traumatised and distressed human woman and a group of males that are now miraculously finding mates.
The serious lack of emotional development and the focus on physical aspects of the female body i.e. the women were constantly naked or semi naked around groups of alien men and there was no mention of this being an embarrassing, scary or weird thing. I really thought this author was a male - women just don’t write with this type of focus. One of the other things that makes me think this is a male author was the fact that there was such an emphasis on the males being all about fighting and defence - there was no reference to the women’s own strength, it wasn’t even about protection as much as it was about - I am bigger and stronger, tougher and look the scariest.
Weirdly the women were even ‘managed’ by the aliens in her dreams, and there was a weird fascination with large breast, breast feeding, (for looong periods of time, to keep the woman safe of course lol), and breeding. Again not so romantic and something I thing maybe a male author might write.
Anyway the writing was actually pretty good and flowed nicely just the choice of topic was unfortunate. The narrator was terrible for some of the voices, making them sound creepy and sleazy.

New planet/New species

Earth is being destroyed by meteorites, earthquakes, volcano's, tsunamis and starvation. Only the riches of rich are being taken on shuttles to a new identified planet called U NO. Grace refuses to leave her parents but eventually after tragedy strikes she is forced to leave Earth. Not sure she is in a better situation, the shuttle crashes and she meets Rask, a fully armored Castian alien, a male who has never seen humans or women. It is utterly hilarious that she has to teach him a few things but there is much to learn on both sides and many changes to adapt to. Fortunately, there were other women on the shuttle who have also crashed and a HEA occurs.

Nice story, but terrible narration

the story is nice, short and fun although sometimes a little too much info at one time, hard to keep it all straight. The narrator was way down on my list of favorites. His voices were so horrible it was difficult to listen. He made some of the characters sound like cartoon characters and the intonations were out of sync with the context of the sentence.

Cute Story, hate the Narration

The story is OK, sometimes it gets so complicated with all the who can shield who stuff that I get lost but still a good story. the narrator whoever was painful to listen to. He does a great job just reading and with some basic voices but then he throws in some weird accents and way over the top dramatics such as when he does Cobra's voice that I just cringe.

The book is great the audio is unbearable.

Please redo the audio with a different male reader and add a female reader. Each character sounded old and pompous. I tried to get thru it but finally gave up at chapter 6. Glad I already read the book or I might not have known how great this series is.

Narrator was terrible for this story

The narrator had a great voice for children's books but not a horror story for the end of the world. He had no inflection to his voice. He could have been telling the story of a blue sky with a rainbow over it. Not the story of the end of earth with tornadoes, tsunamis, earthquakes and violence. The same infliction used to tell how Rask was strangling Grace because he did not know who or what she was. Very strange voice for this story.

The story is good. I recommend reading the story and not listen to the audio. It ruins the story.

I am actually emotionally attached to these men

I don't normally review because I listen to so many books, at least one of two a day. This book, these whole series, has me attached. I read the last one days ago and my heart is still attached to these men. He's they're aliens but they're realistic for aliens in their situation. Every single man is basically a virgin and I thought that would put me off at first but its done so well. they're possessive but not in a mean alpha male way. its a true protective possessive leaving the women to make their own decisions. I feel like the simplicity of the writing might be a turn off for some, but I promise, bear through it, speed up the audio of needed (it helps) because as many romance novels as I've listened to, this is the only one that has stuck with me and has made me actually want for the relationship. most of the time I love THEIR relationship, and would never care for the man myself. the females aren't bad either, and the author is great at painting different stories for them so that all have their own equally painful back story. twice I have cried for the Female leads story. I just really hope you'll give this series a try. if you don't think you can do the first two, at least try apparition and the one after!
