lots of sex

there is a lot going on in this book, but sex really takes center stage. terramates the agency doesn't really have anything to do with the story. it's more like the dark side of the business. it involves a different planet and different species which is way more sexually oriented. lyzette really doesn't have any self-esteem thanks to her mom, so a lot of the story is about her finding out about herself and taking control of the things that happen to her.

Taken - Suspenseful, With Lots of Twists!

This story took me on a mental roller coaster ride! I felt every emotion from anger, anxiety, anticipation to relief, hope and finally the happy ever after I was hoping for. After Lyzette is kidnapped and sold into slavery, her life is forever changed. In the beginning, she accepts her fate and tries to make the best of it. Her "owner" Mikael doesn't really think of her as a slave and treats well, and when he develops feelings for her, he starts to see slavery for what it is. However, after Lyzette is taken from Mikael, she finally finds her inter strength, and makes a stand.

Even though this book was about Lyzette being kidnaped, and sold into slavery, the story kinda reminded of the Brides of Kindred series. However, this one was more on the dark side and the alien world was more like earth.

This story drew me in, and kept me on the edge of my seat; I could not stop listening to it, even if I wanted to. I would recommend this story to my friends; however, I would caution it contains adult content.

Another great narration by Addison Spear!

Sweet then TAKES A TURN DOWN A DARK PATH...

Any additional comments?

I am such a sucker for alien romances - never thought I'd be saying that, but there is this indescribable appeal to them and I rarely find myself bored in them like I am in the standard category romances lately. In Taken, Lyzette is a naive young woman who ends up getting dealt a solid when she is abducted by an alien slave trader, because her parent is that much of a piece of work.

Of course it doesn't seem like a fairytale at first, being that it isn't all that pleasant for her and the fact that she is now the property of a scary alien and all. But the book quickly moves into a sweet easy romance and you find yourself rooting Mikael on as he woos Lyz.

And I was so caught up in it, so sure I knew how it was going to go - just like that, sweet and wrapped up in a nice clean bow - I was unprepared for the dark turn of events. Not *Releasing Rage* kind of Dark (THAT BOOK, I AM STILL SHOCKED. BUT I STILL LOVE IT TOO) but I was like, "That wasn't supposed to happen..." and it kept me listening raptly to see how this would go. This was a story that I think I'd have liked to go longer, get deeper into the details and hook a listener in hard, but on the flipside, this moved so fast it never got stale and for some of the events in here that would normally be a turnoff for some readers, they shouldn't be put out due to the way they were handled.

I think this is the first time I've listened to work by Addison Spear and she had a nice voice. Nice pace, perfect audio quality, no complaints.

It was a great listen, and I was so grateful because man I've been getting bored. The last couple books I've been flipping through and I couldn't tell if it was the book content or just me being burned out but that wasn't an issue here. THANKS FOR A LOVELY ESCAPE! I received this audio for free in return for my honest review.

Good listen

This is a good listen , its romantic, it has mild sex scenes, But it is rather short, there is a lot you would wish to know more about , but still worth a credit !!

Just ok

I hated the plot how the woman in this story was treaty but the ended helped a little to redeem it but this was my least favorite.

Okay. Not what I expected...

Overall it was good. The performance was good for the most part, the changes in voice for each character were smooth and seamless. The story was just okay. There was very little that tied it to the TerraMates brand from the first book besides maybe one mention in the beginning when she got kidnapped. The near rapes and actual molestations got old but the MC finding her inner strength and happy ever after through it all kinda redeemed the story for me.

Action-Packed Romance

Book 2 of the TerraMates series shows us the flip side of arranged marriages in which the bride does NOT consent. Lizette is a likable character who is doing her best to improve her situation, but her looks are holding her back by attracting interest from scumbags from the bottom of the barrel while not being able to get employers to take her seriously. She has an unsupportive mother with no empathy and a total lack of concern for her child, and this makes her a prime candidate for the abduction into the alien bride slave trade....

This one is a little grittier and has a darker side than the first in the series, but it all works out. Our hero not only has a soft side when it comes to Lizzie but turns out to be a knight in shining armor type in full-on rescue mode, and our heroine discovers her strengths and learns to take control of her own destiny in a way that she can do some rescuing of her own.

I am loving Addison Spear's performances in the audiobooks. She is a top-notch narrator who does a great job with the material, the voices, inflection and emotions. I received this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.

Good story...

Good story... but there were a few trigger moments that may not be suitable for everyone. The story was a pretty great one, filled with women finding their inner strength. It's about finding true love and the strength to heal yourself and defend others. I enjoyed it. I will say, thought, that I could have done without those few 'trigger' scenes that I spoke of earlier. All-in-all it was good. I enjoyed Mikael and Lyzette's story. There were a few moments when I wanted to slap some sense into Lyz, but she got better at the end.

Well done to the narrator for giving the story a more enjoyable level of life.

Drama and an intergalactic romance

This story has some intense content. Beware some of the content may be a trigger for some women.
