About this listen

When the delivery guy at her new office turns his attentions to newly divorced single mother Darcy, she brushes it off as flattery, but the encounter awakens something deep inside her. A desire, a lust, a growing need for intimacy, for passion, for release. Her friend tells her it's time to get "back on the horse" - so what if Darcy was to follow the delivery guy outside to his van and act on those desires?

Very short story.

The delivery guy is a very short erotic story. The story line was good, but I thought it could have been longer. The narration was ok. Some parts I felt she read to fast. The story is about a single newly divorced mom, and her sexual fantasy.

Good option for a quick listen

Is there anything you would change about this book?

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. The plot was a little sparse, but then how much can I expect from a 30 minute story. It mainly centered on the office titilation created by "The Delivery Guy" and the fantasy musings of the main female character. There really was no conclusion. The book just ended. It left me feeling a bit short changed. Narration was a bit too fast, but I do like Ms. Bloom's voice quality.

Would you be willing to try another book from Roxy Hart? Why or why not?

Sure, this was my first very short audio so it was a new experience in and of itself. I normally go for much longer books - 8-12 hour audio. I would definitely be interested to see what Roxy could do with more time.

Which scene was your favorite?

I really enjoyed the dream/fantasy scene. Unlike another reviewer, I really liked how the narration was treated in these inner personal musing scenes. It differentiated those scenes in a creative way.

Do you think The Delivery Guy needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

The fact that we know absolutely nothing about the actual delivery guy - then yes. He came off as a cliche - completely gorgeous, stuck on himself, and he knew it. I would like it if we were to discover that there was a lot of substance to him.

Any additional comments?

I don't understand why people criticize the book for being too short. It is what it is. We know the length from the beginning. I think the author could have left out the part with best girl friend - didn't add anything - and developed more about main female character easing back into romantic relationships. But I felt this was a good way to pass 30 minutes in my car. It's what I needed for that period of time.

Narrator speaks way too fast.

i have never had to slow the speed for an audio book but I had to with this book. The narrator spoke extremely fast I had no idea what she was saying so i kept having to go back then realized i could just slow down the speed. Other than that i didn't mind Xanthia Bloom. I love that some audio books are this short because I don't always want to listen for 11 hours. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

Good quick read

Any additional comments?

The Delivery Guy by Roxy Hart was a pretty good quick read. The delivery guy at Darcy's job brought up feelings for her. I wish the book was a bit longer but this was a good quick read. Xanthia Bloom did a great job narrating the book and bringing life to the characters.

that's how you deliver a package

it's a great story and dose exactly what you think it dose but the narrator Bloom is amazing it's just something about her voice that's so very sexy.

Just A Little Slower

Would you try another book from Roxy Hart and/or Xanthia Bloom?

I would try another one of Roxy's books but I would prefer a longer book. This particular book was only 31 minutes long. I would give Xanthia another chance. Her voice is appealing it's just the speed of this narration that is off putting.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator spoke too quickly throughout the story which in turn made it very hard to keep up with the story.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It is just that, short which makes it nice to take a break and step away from whatever you are doing at the moment.

Any additional comments?

I received this audible in return for an honest review.

What the ???

I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest review. There was a beginning, but not a middle, and no end at all. This book was like a chapter out of a bigger book, but it was not erotic, not good, and just plain lacking. I was confused when it was over, not really sure what had just happened.

Very little to this

Too short, no plot or direction. Disliked the echo effect the narrator used to differentiate the dream sequence. Not a big fan of Xanthia Bloom as narrator.
