Rachel Woods and Patrick James were phenomenal in their narration. They portrayed Ruby and John at their strongest, weakest and most vunerable. Their voices and personalities for each character were spot on! Their ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless.

I absolutely loved this book and the audio only made me love it more! The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. I love Ruby and John they have both been through so much but she knows what she wants and is willing to fight for it. John wants what he knows he can’t touch, but that doesn’t stop him from touching anyways. I can not wait to read and listen to more from T. Steele.

This is a standalone mafia romance. No cheating and low angst. There is action and steamy scenes but nothing too over the top. Although I liked the book overall, I feel there are character plot aspects that were a little all over the place. Like the MFC was a mechanic and a singer but nothing really felt ok about that. It was like she’s set up to be those things just to make the story more interesting but I felt like it was unrealistic and missed the mark. Outside of the weird character plots the story was interesting and the Hero checked all the alpha male book boyfriend marks.

This was an entertaining fast paced listen, and the main characters were engaging. The secret trysts were dangerous and titillating. I enjoyed seeing Ruby's dad change for the better and John's heart softening a bit. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The duet narration brought the story to life.
