About this listen

She's a sexy gamer in danger. He's a bodyguard with a secret.

Ex-Army Texas boy Owen Harding fears only one thing: his inner beast. A year in Agent Smith's experimental cages has changed his wolf into something monstrous. But a hate group is hunting the Wilding pack, so Owen's serving again, this time as bodyguard. If only the girl he's protecting wasn't so damn sexy and completely off limits.

Nova Wilding's father was assassinated, leaving her a gaming company to run, a new game to release, and a pack full of wolves who want her for a mate, including a beta who's determined to have Nova and her company. When a bomb goes off in her car, Nova finds herself in her sexy bodyguard's arms, but he's absolutely the wrong man at the wrong time.

While Nova fights to keep her gaming company afloat, and Owen fights to keep her alive, the hate group circles closer and closer, until they both find that falling in love might be the most dangerous game of all.

Great paranormal romance

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would if they are lover of paranormal romance as I loved how the hero and heroine interacted with each other

What did you like best about this story?

I loved how much I feel into listening to this story and would hate to either get home or get to work where I would have to stop listening to it.

What does Holly Chandler and Shannon Gunn bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They did a great job of becoming the characters they were reading to us and bringing the story to life

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Nova showed Owen how much she loved him by submitting in front of her whole pack

Any additional comments?

This is well worth a credit and I play on getting the rest of this series. While this one was a gift from the author I would have happily used a credit for it

Going wild

What a great story. It was nice to see some of the River pack and some of the other characters make an appearance. I was so glad that Owen was able to find his mate and find his true self.
Nova is perfect for Owen. Very self reliant and will not just let any alpha male walk all over her. So smart and able to pull her pack together for herself and them.
Can’t wait for the next one. Nice twist and turns to keep you on your toes.

Shannon Gunn's Taxas voice is FABULOUS!!

Shannon Gunn's mellow deep-in-the-heart-of-Texas voice made me listen to this exciting book twice--which is virtually unheard of in my busy life. This whole Wilding Pack Wolves and the previous books by Alisa Woods (at least those that are available in Audio) are a delightful romp on the Wilding side--with enough action and adventure to keep me endangered and entertained. I'm enjoying working my way through the series--thank you, Ms. Woods, for your delightful stories.

But the mesmerizing All-Male Texan voice of Shannon Gunn made this particular story extra inviting. Try it....you'll like it!!

Duty vs Love and other crazy things

What did you like best about this story?

I love the fact that the Wilding Pack and the River Pack were still close in this book. I liked that they did not go their separate ways. I am also glad that we received a sort of character update from the River Pack even though I wanted to see all the brothers and not just Jace.

What about Holly Chandler and Shannon Gunn ’s performance did you like?

Shannon Gunn was amazing. This is the first book that I have listened to that he narrated. I would have to say that for me he was up there when it came to the top male narrators. We all know who I mean: Joe Arden, Graham Halstead, Sebastian York, Fred Berman, Jim Frangione, etc. I am so glad that he actually sounded as though he was enjoying what he was reading. I will definitely have to find other books that he has narrated. Holly Chandler to me was just so-so.

Any additional comments?

I did love the story line. I am glad that Owen got his HEA. He is the only one out of his unit aside from Jace that survived. I also happy that Owen is a white wolf. I do remember from the River books that white wolves are rare and I think that it is fitting that Owen is one. I did not like the back and forth between Owen and Nova and I sure as hell hated Brady. I knew from the beginning that he was shady and he proved to be just that. I will continue on to the next book.

could have been better

my biggest issue was with the male narrator and the affect accent he used, making Owen seem more like a hillbilly than a man with a Texas drawl, which in reality is nothing like it was portrayed. The story line was pretty good. Not sure if I will read another one.

oh what a great audiobook

I was gifted this audio ARC from the author for a honest and unbiased review

The characters are believable and intriguing. The plot is dramatic, intriguing, and pure enjoyable book to listen to.
This book is a good stand alone but it's better if you read/listened to The River Pack Wolves Series. This book is a spinoff of that series. Either way the book was FANTASTIC!!..!
Owen is rescued from being experimented on, and now working as a bodyguard.
Nova is a game developer, who has a stalker wanting to kill her. Owen has a secret that he hasn't shifted since before he was experimented on and thinks this precludes him from having a mate. Nova doesn't want a mate because the mate would control her father's company and pack.
Perfect for each other. Right. They are fated mates until a coworker back her into a corner.
The characters are believable and intriguing. The plot is dramatic, intriguing, and pure enjoyable reading.
Shannon Gunn did a really good job in reading this book.
Highly recommend this book
