About this listen

After a breathtaking turn of events, Shadow is looking at life in a different perspective. Not knowing who he can trust or who he can forgive has left him feeling desolate and alone. As Shadow is laying behind his rifle, he wonders if he can pull the trigger to eliminate the threat. He takes a deep breath and squeezes the trigger, the rifle recoil ignites the fuel that drives him. Retaliations will be required. Boundaries will be shattered. Redemption will be lost. Betrayal so deep, yet they still yearn for one another. Can Shadow overlook Dani's transgressions? Can Dani overlook the mistrust that Shadow has placed upon her?

This second audiobook in the Devil's Dust series was enjoyable, while being very violent. The main characters were separated by the heroines mothers actions at the end of the first book and most of this book was them coming to trust each other again. There were a lot of killings, backstabbing betrayal and distrust in this book. I almost felt like the violence was overshadowing the love story. The narration was excellent, as always with these two narrators.

Violence and mayhem!

What a conclusion to Dani and Shadow’s story. There were so many twists in the book; some I saw coming and some caught me off guard. The amount of loss was devastating but the ending made up for a lot of it. Definitely can’t wait to see what is next for this MC!!

Great conclusion!

I saw a few negative reviews on this book and I just can’t understand why unless it was read out of order. I LOVE this book! I can’t wait to start book 3!

Must read after book 1!

I love a good MC book.... and this is definitely a worthy 5 star listen as it packs so much in. You get the gritty MC lifestyle, the threats, the twists, the suspense, the "oh shits", the brotherhood mentality and, on top of all this, you also get a romance that was anything but 'typical'. However, for the two broken main characters, it worked for them as they battled poisonous lies, overcame each other's mistrust, fought inner turmoil, triumphed over their haunted pasts, conquered jealousies, had lots of epic sex, healed from heartbreak, killed and was nearly killed, discovered an enemy within as well as gained evil new ones and, thankfully, survived it all. And, through so much diversity, their characters changed, they grew closer together and formed a loving bond made from blood, death, violence, passion, forgiveness and trust.

Together they have the perfect balance - Shadow now has light in his life thanks to Dani and Dani has found the home she never knew she wanted..... with Shadow and all the MC characters.

Worth a credit? Dual POV's, great narration, an action-packed story that was full of biker suspense and a love story that defied and survived everything that was thrown at it. A good balance of drama vs romance and a very creditworthy purchase.

IT'S EDGY, A BIT DARK & IT'S ALL-CONSUMING

Other then the fact that they splint one novel into two for financial gain, this was an awesome book. There is some angst and lots of tear jerking scenes. There was also several really awesome characters. Both the Hero and Heroine are emotionally stunted due to their childhood experiences but, they are both able to share and put their tragedies behind them and focus on the future. There are also a lot of beautiful relationships between friends that become family.

If you are a sensitive person, like me, you might want to have Kleenex available and avoid listening to this book in public. Definitely worth a credit.

Shadow and Firefly's story continues after the cliffhanger of Book 1. Trust is hard to win, and they have a long road to travel to try and get it back and reach their HEA. Legal, personal and territorial problems continue to assault the club and our main couple, and they learn that they need to make every moment count or live with regrets. It was a journey I enjoyed being along for the ride. The only criticism I have is that I don't see the need for this story to have been broken into 2 parts. Nothing wrong with a 17-Hour listen. However, bonus points for the Whispersynch option that makes it less of a hit to the wallet and allows the listener to give a bit of understanding and forgiveness for the cliffhanger. Definitely creditworthy.

Once again, the narration team is top-notch, and they do a great job performing the many characters very well. I hope to see their names on future listens.
