About this listen

It was supposed to be simple. All Navy SEAL Nathan Malone had to do was rescue three young girls from a Colombian drug cartel, then allow himself to be captured just long enough to draw out a government spy. That was before his mission went disastrously wrong… and before his wife, Bella, was told that Nathan was never coming home.

Bella’s mourned her husband’s death for three long years, having no idea that he was still alive. Forced to assume a new identity, the man Nathan was is now dead. If he can get back to his wife, can he keep the secret of who he really is… even as desire threatens to consume them? And as danger threatens to tear Bella from Nathan’s arms once more?

Love my audio smut!! and Lora is one of my favourite raunchy authors. Well narrated and I didn't get bored at any point, big plus given the 15 hour sit.

Enjoiyable

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Most definitely!

Have you listened to any of Clarissa Knightly’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She did a very good job. I had no problem disguishing between characters.

Any additional comments?

Entertaining book full of laughs, tears, "hot flashes" and suspense.

Really enjoyed this book!!

I was so glad to see this come to audio. I love Lora Leigh and this was my fav of the Elite Opps series. I do hope they bring out the rest of the series. I was a little disappointed in the narration, not that she is a bad or hard to listen to narrater, but I felt she was wrong for this material. I was hoping for a stronger performance in Noah/Nathan which I felt she fell short on. Over all I would listen to this again. I also hope thtey bring out the whole Breed series as well as the Nauti series.

Personal Favorite from the Elite Opps

Any additional comments?

This book was fantastic, there was a plot along with the sexually intense scenes. It was not all romance or hot and steamy story line, The plot is what makes you keep listening.

Amazing!

Would you consider the audio edition of Wild Card to be better than the print version?

N/A

Who was your favorite character and why?

Besides the main characters Rory is my favorite - He is a character to really love. Definetely a good spin off for his character, but overall he is a lovable character.

What does Clarissa Knightly bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love this narrator. She does a wonderful job of switching from various characters and maintain the listener interested. Unlike many narrators that switch from men to women charcters .they tend to have a comical feel to them which then breaks the connection to the story. However, when Ms. Knightly speaks either men or women dialogues the listener is kept engaged in the story.

A love to want for

Lora Leigh never disappoints. A terrifically exciting book with lots & lots of intrigue, a great cast of characters. And with all her books, super hot erotic love making. It’s literally got everything you could want. Can’t wait to start the next one. Great narration by Clarissa Knightly. Wished Audible had the books in the middle of the series, but I’ve already bought books to read so I can continue the complete series.

Wow! Omg! Everything you could want.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Probably not. The story could be told in about half the time if some of the "burning" and "fires" were trimmed out. It got pretty redundant after the third hour or so.

Did Clarissa Knightly do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I think this book would have been better with a male narrator. Close to 75% of the book seems to be men talking or men thinking. The narrator is okay, but doesn't make the most sense for this book.

Do you think Wild Card needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No. By the time I got torwards the end, I was just finishing it to say I finished rather than feeling like I wasted so much time listening and not hearing the end.

Could use a trim

This is overboard on sex. I like a good erotic romance but this story would have been better with about half of the sex scenes

Less sex more story

This story for some reason has always touched my heart. I’ve read it multiple times. Listened to it multiple times. My only ding is it needs a strong male duet Jason Clarke or Troy Duran for it to be perfect

Great Story Needs To be Duet

I love this book. I’ve read it multiple times over the years but only just downloaded and listened to the audible version. I still love this book and the storyline but the narrator does not match the character. She has a pleasant voice but it was just wrong for this book.
