About this listen

Eric Callahan is a powerful man, and his sharp business sense earned him the nickname Shark. Yet under this façade is a man who loves his daughter and would do anything for her. When he and his daughter move to San Francisco for three months, he has one thing in mind: expanding his business. As a widower, Eric is not looking for love. He focuses on his company, and his daughter - until he meets Pippa Bennett. She captivates him from the moment he sets eyes on her.

Pippa Bennett knows she should stay away from Eric Callahan. After going through a rough divorce, she doesn't trust men anymore. But there's something about him that draws her in. He has a body made for sin, and a sense of humor that matches hers. Not to mention seeing how adorable he is with his daughter melts her walls one by one.

The chemistry between them is undeniable, but it's the connection that grows deeper every day that has them wondering if love might be within reach. When it's time for Eric and his daughter to go home, will he give up on the woman who has captured his heart or do everything he can to remain by her side?

Narration better than previous read in this series

Eric Callahan and his daughter are only in San Francisco for three months to expanding his business. Eric is not looking for love. Until Pippa Bennett. She captivates him from the moment he sets eyes on her. Pippa whole world was her family and work. She was an exceptional creative mind when it came to what she does like no one else. She was also a sweet soul. She took to Eric's daughter like no other. Eric took to her and did not look back. Things moved along and life came along. Eric had to make a decision. That when mama Callahan states her peace.

Eric and Pippa was a beautiful read.

I loved it

I think this is my favourite book in the series so far. Layla Hagen writes books that draw you into the story and each book feels like your favourite, had something that resonates and keeps you coming back for more. This book hit me in the feels more than the first two, I had a few tears at a couple of parts. Eric Callaghan is a single father who is only going to be in San Francisco for a short time, he isn't looking for love but there is something about Pippa Bennett that he just can't resist. Pippa has been hurt, she is now focused on helping her 8 siblings find love, that is until she meets Eric. Sparks fly and soon they're in head over heels, but what will happen when Eric has to leave?

I've never listened to Kendall Taylor before, she was amazing. The emotions she was able to convey were so good, I need more.

It's been a while since I listened to anything narrated by Jeremy York, this book just reminded me how fantastic he is and why I need to spend more time with him in my ears. No one performs sweet alphas quite like Mr York!

Oldest sister Pippa meets a worthy match

This story interweaves the story though not the courtship of Pippa’s previous marriage to a truly nasty, greedy SOB to a steady romance with a nice, wealthy suitable widower and his preteen daughter. Not sure how the over protected, over indulged, wealthy, preteen ended up so accepting and supportive but it is implied it is due to her health issues and being a bullying victim. In any case the couple tension and drama is Not due to this an normally easy going tween but rather the dad/ boyfriend who seems to be able to smoothly own and run an multi million dollar company but has trouble seeking validation of an obvious decision for his future from his mother and daughter let alone the love of his life. Pippa also is full of smart flirtatious quips until it counts and she becomes tongue tied. It is all about communication with this pair and the last 3 chapters speedily contain most of the resolutions. The narration by Jeremy York was great, whereas Kendall Taylor’s was a bit monotonous. This book is under the romance package where it belongs with the earlier 2 books in the series. Not sure if or when I’ll read the rest of the series since they are not under the package but maybe that will change or they will be offered as sale options. Nice stories but not worth the full price or a full credit. Maybe the books are in library or used bookstore.

Heartwarming storyline

A heartwarming and sweet romance. I enjoyed Pippa and Eric’s story. They were a perfect match and I loved how their story unfolded. No angst or drama; just a heartfelt romance. The narration was well done.

I LOVED Pippa's story!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes! because this family is one of my favorites.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Out of all the siblings, I think Pippa is my favorite. Pippa is my favorite because of her matching skills. She is so "sneaky" about it which adds extra entertainment to his.

Have you listened to any of Kendall Taylor and Jeremy York ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was a first for me. I loved their voices. I would rank them among some of my favorites to listen to.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I could have I would have!

Eric and Pippa!

Pippa is the oldest and she has just ended her marriage after she found out nothing about her husband was real. She likes to the look after her siblings so she doesn’t want the rest of the family to know how badly she hurts so she soldiers on and keeping her pain to herself.

Eric is the single father of his 12 year old daughter Julie. His wife passed away in the same car accident that has left his daughter with a limp and he is not ready to let another woman into his and Julie’s life to only be hurt again. He is San Francisco to set up a new company office but will be returned to Boston at the end of the summer.

From the moment they meet their chemistry is electric however they try to avoid their attraction to each other as neither is ready for a relationship. Julie draws them together and they become close but what happens when the summer ends and Eric and Julie are due back in Boston?

I enjoyed the performances of Kendall Taylor and Jeremy York as it was easy to differentiate when the different characters were speaking and the voice inflections made you feel like you were right there.
