About this listen

Lennox Kennedy is beautiful, loud, and the love of my life. She's also my ex-girlfriend.

The first time I saw her after ten years apart, I slammed into the plexiglass minutes before our game was set to begin. The second time I threw up. The third time's a charm apparently because as my fiancée and I walked into an appointment to meet the woman hired to plan our nuptials—there she was again.

Obviously, I did what any smart man would do—I called off the wedding. I don't have a plan per se, other than winning back the only girl I've ever loved.

As a future hall of famer and one of the best centers hockey has ever seen, I know a thing or two about winning. But convincing Lennox Kennedy to give this hockey boy another chance might just be the challenge of a lifetime and this game I'm playing may turn out to be nothing but a pucking disaster.

Narrated in duet style.

Such a good story

Listen, I was looking for not a slush story but something lighter and this filled that spot. However, this is not super light and airy. This has some very real feelings in it and I appreciated that so much. Aiden is an absolute dream and I love him with all my heart. Not going to lie there was a point in this story when I yelled at Lennox because I thought she was screwing him poorly. But that’s what I love about a good story is that it makes me feel feelings. And not to mention the spice is spicy.

Wonderful

First, I just want to say I did enjoy the representation of anxiety/depression because it was similar to how I experience it.

second, I'm a simp for these narrators.

Second Chance Love Story That Melts the Ice

Brittanee Nicole delivers a heartwarming and hilarious romance with Hockey Boy, blending second chances, witty banter, and emotional depth into a story you won’t want to put down. From the very first page, you’ll root for this couple to rekindle their love, even as they navigate the challenges of old wounds and new beginnings.

💘 The Plot:
Ten years after their breakup, hockey star and future Hall of Famer finds himself face-to-face with his ex-girlfriend Lennox Kennedy—at his own wedding planning appointment, no less. While their first reunion involves plexiglass and embarrassment, the third time’s the charm. Without hesitation, he calls off his wedding, determined to win back the love of his life. But Lennox isn’t easily swayed, and convincing her to give their love a second chance might just be his toughest game yet.

🔥 Why You’ll Love It:

Second Chance Magic: The chemistry between Lennox and her ex is undeniable, and you’ll be hooked as he pulls out all the stops to win her back.
Laugh-Out-Loud Moments: The humor is spot-on, with plenty of lighthearted, laugh-inducing scenes that make the story unforgettable.
A Determined Hero: Watching a confident hockey player chase after the one who got away will have you swooning from start to finish.
Narrators That Shine: The dual narration brings the characters to life, perfectly capturing the humor and emotion of the story.
⏳ What Makes It Stand Out:
While many second chance romances hinge on mutual regret, Hockey Boy flips the script with a hero who’s fully convinced of their love—and a heroine who needs a bit more convincing. The balance between humor and heartfelt moments makes this story an irresistible read.

📖 Final Thoughts:
Hockey Boy is a charming and hilarious second chance romance that hits all the right notes. With lovable characters, plenty of swoon-worthy moments, and a side of humor that keeps the story light and fun, Brittanee Nicole has created a must-read for sports romance fans. The best way to start a terrific series

Hockey Boy is the best ever introduction to the Boston Bolts and the Langfield Brothers. The little prologue at the beginning of Chapter One is scary, because What the Heck?? Aiden is having some sort of medical emergency; he’s crashing for heaven’s sake. And Lennox is saying the one word that Aiden never wanted to hear again, the word that means so long, farewell, goodbye, I’m done. What kind of love story is this?

The best kind. What follows in Chapter One sets the tone for the rest of the book. Lennox is opinionated, stubborn, mouthy, always talks before she thinks, and Aiden can’t even look at her without getting a dopey smile on his face. Meeting for the first time after she dumped him ten years ago – when she’s just been hired to plan his wedding to another woman – isn’t the ideal setting for a reunion. But it is, because so many things instantly become crystal clear to Aiden and he embarks on his Big Plan: win Lennox back. Whatever it takes, whether she’s on board or not.

Lennox has a big deadline coming up: get married in order to receive the trust fund her father is trying to take away from her. That works for Aiden; they can have a fake relationship and then a fake engagement and then a fake marriage, for however long it takes for that trust to be secure. A year, ten years, a lifetime. And if anyone thinks Aiden will see her married to another man . . . . Lennox resists, but this is Aiden and he’s persistent and persuasive. And the former love of her life. We don’t yet know why she dumped him, but we do know they are meant for each other and we’re fully on board with Aiden’s plan.

Hockey Boy is outrageously funny, but that’s not all there is to it. Lennox’s family is a rich, powerful Boston family, but warm? Nope. They are demanding, cruel, all about business and money. She wants – and needs – independence and freedom from them. Aiden’s large family is fully supportive, and as a future hall of fame hockey player it seems he’s on top of the world, but his singing, joking, best friend to everybody personality hides a lot of struggle and pain. Author Brittanee Nicole does an amazing job of combining all these parts into one delightfully perfect story. You will laugh out loud, be brought to tears, swoon over the romance, and need an ice bath after all the heat.

And talk about perfect . . . I both read and listened to Hockey Boy and talented narrators Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor bring Aiden and Lennox to life in a way you can’t resist. Not much to say about Teddy Hamilton: if he speaks it, I want to listen to it. Yes, he’s that good. Aiden is determined, unsure, hurt, so in love, and it all comes through with Hamilton’s portrayal. Samantha Brentmoor makes Lennox snarky, vulnerable, and oh so tender towards Aiden, and she also does a wonderfully evil rendition of Aiden’s ex-fiancé Jill. I loved Hockey Boy, couldn’t wait to read the next book in the Boston Bolts series, and then the next, and I’m looking forward to many more to come. Bonus: I discovered there is a whole bunch of Langfields I didn’t know before now and many books to read to catch up. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

As Usual, A Great Romance from BN

This was cute, fun to pass the time to, and the characters were so nice to see again! The spice was spicy, and the story line was easy reading. I am so glad that the author found a way to continue the stories of the Langfield family and their friends.

Fantastic hockey romance!

Brit has given us yet another fantastic book! This is a second chance romance, marriage of convenience story… Aiden is a lovable golden retriever hockey boy and Lennox is the fun loving pink haired one that got away. The story touches on depression and anxiety, Brit has written this well.

Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor give life to these two beautiful characters. Performed in duet style audio. The Langfield family is one you’ll wish you could be a part of or at least be friends with!

Magnificent!

Everything about this book is sooo good! Brittanée Nicole can do no wrong. This book is amazing, heartwarming, romantic and so hot. There are relatable characters and swoony moments that will have you glued to your earbuds. The audiobook is even better because you get both Teddy Hamilton and Samantha Brentmoor bringing Aiden and Lennox to life. The spice was spicing and the deep feelings Aiden experiences at times was so relatable it brought me to tears. The performances were exquisite. This should be a no brainer download.
