Abby Hafer has a doctorate in zoology from Oxford University and teaches human anatomy and physiology at Curry College. She has worked on many different human physiology research projects, including ones at Harvard School of Public Health. She is the author of the book The Not-So-Intelligent Designer—Why Evolution Explains the Human Body and Intelligent Design Does Not. Her work debunking Intelligent Design/Creationism includes frequent hilarious public lectures called “UnIntelligent Design—Why Evolution Explains the Human Body and Intelligent Design Does Not”, "Animals That Shouldn’t Exist, According to Intelligent Design* *…but do anyway” and “Biology and Intelligent Design: They Really Do Speak Different Languages—and I Can Prove It.” She believes that humor is a great way to puncture bad ideas and frequently asks crucial questions like “Who does the Creator like better—us, or squid?” and “Why do mudskipper fish climb trees?” and “Why do men’s testicles hang outside the body, but elephants have their testes inside the body? Men are subjected to all kinds of inconvenience and suffer severe pain and worse because of this unfortunate positioning. Does this Designer prefer elephants to men?” She understands that once she mentions men’s testicles, people will pay attention. She has been interviewed on NPR, WBAI and other radio outlets on these and other important topics.
