Welcome to my Amazon author page. From the youngest of ages I have been fascinated by history and all the forgotten stories that are sitting around in dusty old archives somewhere, waiting to be told. As the renowned Civil War propagandist, Henry Hotze, noted at his prime: 'History encompasses everything that is worth knowing.' But history is also full of mysteries. Were the Princes in the Tower really done away with by their uncle? What happened to the crew of the Mary Celeste? Was Jack the Ripper a real person? Does the Shroud of Turin bear the image of Jesus Christ? And the beautiful thing is, as storytellers we can exploit these gaps in historical knowledge by telling fictional tales within a real-life context with real-life characters. I wrote my first book during the summer holidays when I was fifteen years old: a supernatural novel called The Sixth Number about a group of friends, a network of mysterious tunnels underneath their hometown, Cold War conspiracies, and a mythical demon. Since then - while completing a degree in American history - my work has been focused on historical fiction. My debut release on Amazon, A Kingdom of Our Own, follows the experiences of two boys who flee from their homes at the height of the Vietnam War in search of a better life. Broadly speaking, it seeks to highlight the darker side of modern American life: the rampant political corruption, rising crime, and under-siege nuclear family. More recently I have been working on the Chronicles of Ascension series, which follows the exploits of King Edward V of England after his dramatic escape from the Tower of London. The first novella in the series is due for release - exclusive to Amazon - in January 2019. For the time being all that's left for me to say is I really hope you enjoy reading on my page.
