He was a founding editor of THE NEW VIRGINIA REVIEW, and is currently a fellow of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and serves on the board of the NORTHERN APPALACHIAN REVIEW. He teaches in the Creative Writing Program at Wilkes University and at the Ossabaw Writers Retreat. His next novel will be VIOLENT PEACE (St. Martins/Macmillan, December 2020).
