About this listen

"Tiller Galloway is a terrific hero.... A fast-paced, convincing thriller set in an unusual locale." (Baltimore Sun)

"Plot twists and turns that chart a tricky course through the deep waters of human need and greed." (Ocala Star-Banner)

“Local atmosphere and a good knowledge of treacherous currents keep things on course.” (The London Times)

On a moonless night in 1945, a destroyer sinks a U-boat, 50 miles off Hatteras Island, the graveyard of the Atlantic. Over a half-century later, the mummified corpses of three crewmen, wrapped in a decaying rubber raft, come to light during excavation for a new shopping development. Their reappearance unleashes neo-Nazis, drug smugglers, and a shadowy "historian" with an ominous plan.

When Hatteras native, salvage diver, and ex-con Lyle "Tiller" Galloway III starts digging into the discovery, he's forced by an island family to take on a dangerous silent partner. Together, he and Shadrach Aydlett will discover what actually happened in the Carolina sand hills so long ago, and what everyone's really after...tons of long-lost Nazi gold. And finally, he’ll battle a ruthless killer many fathoms beneath the stormy sea off Cape Hatteras.

A great new adventure series

Hatteras Blue: A Tiller Galloway Underwater Adventure: The Tiller Galloway Novels, Book 1. Loved this book it left me wanting to read/listen more in the series.
Realistic descriptions of underwater dangers and beauty, with the 3 main protagonist well developed. Quite fast paced it gripped me from the first chapter and held me thru untill the last sentence.
Narration by Edison McDaniels is superb - in fact he made it from a 4 star listen into a 5 star,

Gripping Listen!

David Poyer is a new author to me. I was attracted to this underwater action thriller by the book blurb. I had never realized until the past few years how close the German Submarines came to our country during WWII. This book expands upon some historical things that I knew and meshed fiction into one gripping tale. Some of the characters in this book I really liked, while others were despicable. I thought the narrator Edison McDaniels did a great performance. One could hear who was speaking. He did a great job with the accents and dialects. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator.

Mostly Fun & Entertaining

Well written and narrated. I had a problem with all the boat terminology. It caused the book to be longer than it should have been and it was just boring to hearing about engine parts, etc. However, if you like that stuff, you will probably love it. I was provided this audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Blast

Great read!

action-adventure, suspense, greed, mystery, thriller *****

Plot speed is a bit erratic, but the story is good. The publisher's blurb is better than most, so there's no need for a recap of spoilers. I thought that it was a good thing that the suspense build up wasn't as fast as some because that often lures the reader to skim or skip, and that would really be a waste. It really is a good read!
The audio is performed by Edison McDaniels who is adept at underplaying when indicated and never oversells.

Monotone narration

Couldn't get past 3rd chapter, narrator is monotone. does voices well, but makes it difficult to get into story.

Hooked by the first chapter!!

This was the first book in the series that I read, and I certainly look forward to reading the others. The story is very interesting, with lots of psychological twists and turns. and then the story only got better the more I listened. I liked the character of the detective, and all the characters seemed very believable and realistic. Very enjoyable!
The narration was impeccably good and very realistic as well ..

Over all a very enjoyable book and I will definitely follow this series ..

That was unexpected...

This book was very unexpected it didn't go how I would have expected it to, the story had twists that took it in very different directions to where I have first thought it to be going.

The main female character was an interesting choice she was both strong and yet quite gullible. She made very questionable decisions they were often not in her best interests and got herself into situations that were quite dangerous and often risked her life.
The lead male character was not someone that I would want to meet having previously been involved in the drug trade he's done his time in prison and is now on parole, but he's far from being rehabilitated. I found it quite difficult to like him, he was often short-sighted and selfish in his choices.

However the story line was interesting and there were some really well executed twists. It is a very high energy book to listen to, despite everything I found myself unable to stop listening.

There's a lot of information about Deep Sea diving in the book and I found this information intriguing and well placed within the book.

The narration is a good match for the sometimes slow pace of the book, the narration is clear, well-paced, and delivered with an under-statement that seemed very appropriate. The character voices are clear and easy to distinguish from each other.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and/or narrator and/or publisher and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Wonderful

I got this ARC via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I started listening to this after listening to two rom-coms and this one took me for a ride that kept my heart rate up almost the whole time. The twists and turns and shady characters really made the story come alive. I really enjoyed the adventure and the history lessons included in the story. Great overall. The narration made the story even better.

Hatteras Blue

The first 3/4 of this book dragged.Naration by Edison McDanials was mostly monotone and boring. There were so many descriptions of everything and everyone. We just don't need that much information.I didn't find anyone in the book that I liked even a little bit. That said, the last 1/4 was interesting, fast moving and narration picked up.It was hard to rate.I was given this book by the narrator, author or publisher free for an honest review.
